So I'm planning(or fantasizing, i guess) to +9 a level 4 weapon for the first time, was wondering how much HD oridecons do you guys prepare before attempting? If you could include the price for number of HD ores used/planning to use, would be great.

I see most people suggest getting 300 HD Oris before you start. So that's 30 boxes. Each box is about 5 million, which means you'll need 150 million zeny. Or $30.

Holy crap, that's a lot of cash :/

Couple hundred. Stop upgrading as soon as item is +7 or higher if you're down to under 100 ores (to buy more ore). It's a money pit.

So where do you find HD boxes for 5M each? I would love to buy 30 boxes.

I've seen people never get a +7 when falling to 120 ores. Do 500 just to keep it safe. Besides, you will always have to upgrade something to +9 in the future, so any excess ore isn't a loss.
