Maybe they saved up a bunch of them from an earlier time when they could make characters for free...

Yeah this game is doomed if that "solution" proposed by Oda doesn't get implemented.

Well it seems to me if you wanted to conduct an experiment in bot control
Ymir's near sterile environment would be the best place to test it.

Would be a good place to test the response time of GM's too.
Its been 7 hours since I made this thread, sent a ticket, and PM'd Oda. All the bots are still there.

Ymir is still different from Valkyrie, an isolated outstanding incident doesn't change that. GMs banned (not all, but most) botters on Ymir swiftly and accurately for a while now, why should they ignore this issue? When they do indeed ignore the problem for days, you could come up with your prophecies of doom, but don't start after a few hours have passed.Don't worry there will be still there even after a day

the next day
the next next day
and so on...
I have faith in bots.

as far as i understood, the solution they're working on will only be for the zeny-spammers in pront. the rest of the whole botting mischief will continue to happen as it does currently.
i like that ymir currently has its own bot related problems, that will put more preassure on the GMs to finally do soemthing against it, instead of just giving us their standard answer "go play on ymir if bots bother you". i also like that there are mostly like 3-5 topics with bot complaints on the first page on this forum. sooner or later something has to be done. or so i hope.

If they just hired a programmer to make a 3rd party bot program that patrolled towns like ragial already does, but this bot is in GM hide, has GM kick/ban powers, uses a detection method like RCX to catch people spamming chat at 30 lines a second, and ban them. Not too hard, really, considering a legit player using the legit client gets red muted long before spamming the # of lines required here.
