I know that once you transcend from Crusader to high novice, then to high swordsman, you get the platinum skills for the swordsman automatically without even having to do the quest.
My question is, does that also apply for the Crusader platinum skill, Shrink?

No, it doesn't apply to 2nd class platinums. You have to go do the quest.
