if a lot of people start asking to validate the legitimacy of every trade. It will entail a lot of work on the gm's part.
I was not aware that just over seeing normal trades were of no charge.

are there any other steps that can be taken besides gm overseeing?

Value Added Services - over the Zeny limit trades.

are you dumb? just the fact that you thought that gm presence to oversee a trade would require wpe to pay for is beyond me. that's like a roempire forum type of response.

Trades under zeny limit take all of one to three minutes usually...
I fail to see 1-3 minutes as a devastating loss of GM productivity.

Its been around for years. I've used it and seen it done, you put in a request they give you a time, date, and place. It takes no time at all really, just have to work with both parties.

Its not rocket science, its common sense. If the person doesn't want to trade on his/her main char then its pretty much obvious you shouldn't be dealing with them.

Hey guys look more conspiracies about the GMs and players.

Trades like these have gone on for years and nobody has had to pay a thing. The GMs know well enough I'm sure that if they decided to charge for that kind of service (lol) people just wouldn't do it and then ticket spam flood them about scams.

I wanted to add, this service is there for those high valued items such as MVP cards or like say a +20 Nyd Garb or something incredibly rare. I don't know if its still used for MP/DR/GR though since they have kinda taken a dive in the past year. Maybe DR is still high enough for it.

Never used a GM for GR/DR. I always take screenshots. What I always do when selling expensive cards is trade the card for equal amount of items, then sell them back the items for the zeny.

Ah okay, its way less on Ymir so wasn't sure. But there are reasons for that.

@ Inubashiri

A big hank you to you guys (the mods and people with GM/CM contacts) for helping out. Looks like at least one of them (pfchan) got justice and is now happily back in Eden. But now that I am aware of the possibility of this type of scenario, I'm feeling very paranoid in my trades now >_>

Since I am sort of a trader, who makes a tiny profit out of buying and re-selling high +8 ~ +10 items, what is the threshold do you guys think I should enquire for a GM fac'd trade? I am also afraid about the time taken - by the time I get a facilitator, the buyer/seller might have found a better deal or gone offline for 2-3 days =(

I wouldn't even worry about it unless if the item you're selling is worth over 10b, or if the transaction would require more than 2 deals. If you can get collateral (an item of equivalent or at least half the items value) during one of the deals though, then there's nothing to worry about. However, when selling an item over 10b, the person you're selling to is usually well known on forums, so you'll have no problem finding out if hes trustworthy or not. I've done several 10b+ deals without GM's getting involved.

In my case, I've also done deals of 500m+ over the mail, and this is because people actually know me on irowiki. I've had 0 problems. Now if the guy you're selling to has 0 forum posts or just made a forum account to buy your item, then I'd probably ask for GM help during the deal, because that's just suspicious.

Another thing to note, is that if someone wants to buy your high priced item, but doesn't have a forum account to post on, then they will get a friend who is well known on forums to bid for them, and thus, prove they are somewhat trustworthy, since you'll most likely be dealing with the well known person.

Lastly, for items worth over 2b, I rarely ever get higher offers in-game than my offers on forums. So if the winner of the auction/item is an unknown in-game person, then getting collateral or GM help would be good if the transaction involves more than 2 deals.

First of all, really Zinja stop posting, you're scaring people over the equivalent of CATCHING cancer Posted Image (yes I said catching on purpose).

Second, you're all worrying over nothing tbh, I mean honestly even IF you get suspended its basically because they have to stop the flow of the zeny to examine the backtrack of it to figure out where it came from. Usually a calm logical ticket submission first inquiring what happened followed by responding to what they say happened will resolve the issue. If you blow it out of proportion and get crabby and post on the forums accusing the staff of this or that, you're not going to help your case. If you get mixed responses or aren't quite sure whats going on, the best thing to do if a few days have passed and no response has come, you can forum PM Corvus with your ticket number for an update on your ticket. What most people don't understand is that you can appeal your suspension if its perma for re-investigation quite a few times.

As for the 2 or 3 day thing, it can't be helped sometimes due to GM schedule, your schedule, buyer/seller schedule, realistically its best to get both parties involved with a GM to insure the trade is done right and not subject to illegitimate activity.

I resent that, It is totally not my intention to scare mong . I only wished to gain some clarity on this situation/scenario

I had learn't a new thing that we can request a gm to over see a deal of even 500mil+ if we have feel such an action is needed to validate the legitimacy of the deal. I am very sure ,like me, a lot of people were unaware of this. I am assuming this is done by submitting at ticket.

If you blow it out of proportion and get crabby and post on the forums accusing the staff of this or that, you're not going to help your case.

Now i find the above statement to be loaded and unwarranted . You are accusing me of accusing the staff of this that. where none such exist. kindly refrain from making false accusations.

Thanks for the helpful Useful information you have provided regardless it is very informative indeed.

Edit: i would also like to add if you feel this topic has served its purpose in facilitating the proper information. and it might have a chance of being trolled or diverted. Kindly summarize all the relevant and informative information and lock it but let it be accessible to view for reference to such scenarios .

That statement was NOT directed at you, I don't know how you got that impression. That was directed to everyone in general.

Well I got PMs from people concerned they were going to get banned from something being posted without any fact checking first. GMs don't go around banning people because of large values of zeny transfered. I only added that GM service in because most newer people don't know about it, and now you know, and knowing is power.

Also topic has served its purpose. Please read the whole topic before PMing a mod or CM please.
