The Eden quests are nice for catching up in levels with the "base" average. However, when you start getting Red Pots instead exp, it becomes really grindy until you can get to level 41 (for orc dungeon Eden quests).

Granted, that doesn't mean I didn't take advantage of the Novice Red Pots. I spent an hour or so killing Bigfoot South>East of Payon and got like 100 Bear Footskins and 50 Animal Skin, then repeated the Payon Eden Collection quests 10 times (you basically just walk in and out of Eden to talk to the NPC), and got 1000 novice pots. They're not great for using in battle, but you'll never have to sit down cause you can just spam red pots until you're full again.

I think I have like 3000 pots on my Royal Guard still. It's kind of silly.

So what would be a good reward for someone trying to level with your experience?
When are Recovery items no longer worth the hassle of working towards?
How does this effect the way you choose to play?
With the style rewards we have now, do you believe that to a new player would feel more apart of the story or alienated?

At level 30, on one orc lady/baby I could spam through ~100 pots to survive, lol.
They don't last long.

Meat is one of the best items for healing, because of the low price and high heal amount [around the same as an Orange for a non-vit character]

darn beat me to it.

yeah, 500z orange pot right there IIRC. Only con is meat is heavy as hell.

and novice reds are like red pots, worthless past level 15. They really need to up how much potions heal anyway (whites heal next to nothing past 110) to kinda balance them out imo.

lol its funny thoug this game is way easier than it used to be, & ppl still complaint about it .
but well if you dont talk you wont be hear i guess.
so take all the loot you find & sell either to NPC or as merchant actually there are npc who changes crappy loot for red pots useless in the end but works there is a kafraa points thing that gives you ramdon stuffs, & in the end you can rest & recover sp/hp as the game used to be >.<
so good luck on your request ppl ^^

Of course people are gonna complain. When a game is not fun, but they still want to give the game a fair shot, they're gonna voice their opinions. The community should be grateful that some people are willing to point out problems in the game rather than just quitting outright and moving on to the hundreds of things that are clearly better.

I feel like all the early level Eden quests should trickle in potions, while keeping the same exp values (except for the 25-40 quests, those exp values should be increased). Just a steady amount to keep them from having to sit down. The free pots should never really reach white pots, since those are used regularly at higher levels. Yellow and Orange pots as turn in rewards would be fine. I actually wouldn't mind 1-time gifts from the Eden group for hitting certain milestones. Like when you hit level 30, you get some stat food (which is nice at low levels), and when you hit Level 40, you get some Geographer Summon Scrolls (for free heals).

I mean, the point of the Eden quests is to get players out of newbie hell. Unfortunately, the first 50-60 levels or so are the worse levels to be at in this game. Partying is impossible, and you don't get access to any of the fun content like quests and events. This is necessary to slow down botters, of course, but the rookies suffer hard from it, and it's difficult to stay motivated after a while. Having a bunch of small rewards as a congratulations makes the experience more rewarding, and I think rookies would more likely stick out the mess until they can get to the fun content.

New players are not going to sit and wait half the time they play for their health to go back up. You fight 6-7 monsters then wait 5 minutes to heal? No one is going to play a game like that. New players don't care what it USED to be like. Old players always talk about how fast paced and action packed this game is, then they tell new players to spend half their time sitting doing nothing. NO ONE WILL PLAY A GAME THAT COMPRISES HALF ITS TIME DOING NOTHING.

The only reason I even continued playing was because I was lucky enough to make a Battle Priest, which didn't work out later because they level unbelievably slow. You advise new players to use the +10 level experience bonus, then turn around and tell them to level at monsters below their level. There's a huge imbalance here where veterans not only can afford all the healing supplies, in addition to their knowledge of clips, but also have the gear to level at proper maps, where new players have next to no zenny, and can't even afford the potions needed to level at maps that are the same level as they are.

The disadvantage of new players is tremendous. The idea is to bring new players into the end game, instead of the game progression bringing them to a screeching halt. I level on maps that are within 3 levels of my level range. I use fly wings at the slightest hint of being mobbed. I have a high AGI character and I can't afford the orange potions I need. In videogames you're suppose to be able to take a hit. This isn't donkey kong where one hit and you're dead. I do the eden hunting and collecting quests. I collect all pieces of loot and reference them on ragial.

My big question is how would people abuse the potions? Don't end gamers use yggdrasil items? New players need cheaper potions to make it to end game or they will stand up and quit. The only reason I made it to 93 was because battle priests are the cheapest class, but to suggest all new players make battle priests is the epitome of stupidity. Make potions cheaper, or make more powerful novice potions.

Well if you are poor, you need to make yourself a leveling budget.

Figure out much you need in pots then figure out how much zeny it is possible to make from the place you have chosen
to level.

If you are spending yourself broke with your leveling habits you are doing it wrong.

There are several inexpensive cards and gears that boost the effectiveness of recovery items.
Sometimes you may actually need to take the time out to not level but to make zeny.
Experience points isn't everything.

Interesting, that the way most vets play but it would be interesting to collect and publish data on how much zeny does it take for the AVERAGE player (not pro) to reach level 99 (trans) and start moving towards 3rd Tier.

The sad part is, the only things to do in game are what? WoE and MVP, which are all based on your level and the Amount of end game items you have. Both of which take time, with out something else to do, well for most that could be the other reason why they would or will quit.

If you aren't willing to invest time in making zeny, don't expect to have any.
If you don't invest time in PvP don't expect to be good at it.
If you don't take time to build a good guild to secure a fort consistently, don't expect to be making many god items.

Most new players I help with zeny issues make the mistake of trying to level in places that they aren't equipped
to level in hence, burning through an unnecessary amount of consumables. There's always an issue with
what you would like to do with your character and what your character is actually capable of.
