What is not allowed to transfer? According to the terms of agreement, Etc items, except for kafra shop items are not allowed. The equipment/card limitations I get, but what about Consumables? And what about items that were once in lucky boxes, but are not strictly kafra shop exclusive and are no longer in lucky boxes?

No, I'm pretty sure my transfer also included my consumables - in my case, the nublet Eden starter items (yellow bwings, agi/bless scrolls, manuals).

aaand my equips
aaand a santa poring card i got during Valkyrie's Summon event thingy in Juno.

Idk it's random...
I guess big things can't go over? Anything MVP carded maybe?
Ermm... I'd like to know too, to be honest.

majority of consumables are allowed to xfer, with a limit on certain things like edps/etc. of course this all varies between xfer to xfer on what you can get away with. same goes with things from lucky boxes that used to be there like 3x bms, bbs, gum, +20 foods/etc

i transfered 700 oca's, you should be fine as long as you dont have any etc items or loads of the same type of gear (like 20 pairs of varients)

If they don't accept items, like you have too many EDPs for example, what happens? Do they ask you to remove them before they try to transfer again? Or are they deleted upon transfer?

they'll send you an email saying it cannot be completed as requested because of _______. please storage them and send a ticket in after or something along those lines

When a problem occurs, they will email you with a ticket number and details of what needs to be removed from your inventory list before the transfer can be made.

They don't delete any items as the transfer won't proceed until your inventory list is checked and ok'd.

actually they dont tell you what to take off your char. they just say "something" is keeping us from transfering
