Alright after reading the thread, i want to bring my thoughts into this. There are a ton of people who blame the GM's for this and that, there are casual players, and angry vets. Here is my stance. I consider myself a vet, i agree that there is hardly much end game content (no 150 quest, events, etc). The only thing for them to look forward to is WoE. To get that end game content though is not up to the GM's. If there is content to be gotten it MUST be gotten from kRO, who we all know doesnt like to give us much at breakneck speed (more like pony express). But getting back to end game content...even if there isnt, there is so much you can still do. Sure your 150/50, why not sit and talk with friends? Help out your guilds lower lever character? Hell even think of ways to add end game content? You sit here complaining that there is none, well think of something yourself why dont you!

To the casual players, yes ignorance is bliss. You wont really understand the big problems unless you go after that end game stuff (woe, etc). There is where you see all the complaints about skills and what not. The reason is that skills and stuff that are good in pvm on a casual lvl is possible the worst thing you can use in a WoE setting. But being a casual player usually means you enjoy the game more than anyone else. You can see it for its full capasity (big story quests, events, etc).

Now as for the ones doing the GM bashing...Look, i do agree that they promise a lot and dont deliever on time but they do, do a lot of things right too. You cant just focus on the negative and not on the positive. Everyone was yelling and screaming about the skill patch this and the skill patch that. Is it any wonder why the GM's tried to rush it? You guys kept yelling at them for it, and when they got it to you, you just complained more?! Do you want it or dont you? :thumb:

Sigh...*takes a breath* Look, in general its a combination of faults. The GM's do mess up on stuff a lot, there is no denying that, BUT they are only human. They are not their all knowing oricles who can take this game to a promised land. People need to give them a break once in a while. To the players, if you want to complain about the game either just sit and take, quit, or DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! All i hear is complaints from you, if you think something is a problem think of a solution and send it in. If and idea is good enough the GM's cant ignore it.

For those who are to lazy to read here is a summary: "Quit being lazy and read the post."

True enough, but my last long long long reply pretty much covered what is probably happening xD

And don't get me wrong I don't hate the GM's at all, I never once get mad at game gm's really.. I mean I got mad
once on wow because of one long story but that was all :/

But long story short this thread is getting too long and too many opinions are getting posted on here and too many little attacks
are being posted, i'm not going to keep reading it XD

So yeah, i'm not some retarded "wii" player who you can easily bash, I actually know whats happening in and out of game
and why they do certain things... :P

now i'm even more concerned.
you know "what's going on" and yet you think it's a good thing.

of course i understand where you're comming from. it probably isn't easy to keep a 10 year old mmorpg alive and still earn money with it. especially since the generation of gamers changed. digital natives live faster lives than we do. "generation a.d.d." is the audience now.

getting into the game is now probably easier than ever. staying to play (for a longer time) on the other hand probably doesn't work as well anymore.
if their "let's make the game faster"-tactic works on the long run, is probably debateable. i don't think it will. but then again i don't think they aim to keep the game alive as long as possible. their goal appears to be to get the most money out of the game while it still breathes.

all that aside, my main concern with you complimenting the GMs was that you applaud them for the crappy jobs they do. independently whether you like those changes or not. the GMs have no idea what they're doing. currently they experiment alot with the pace of the game experience.

short example:

- hey guys, we got turn-ins with double exp for everyone as an event!
- okay they're out again, hope you liked 'em!
- oh my gosh, they're back! (they're permanent now, but we won't tell you of course, because that would make people rage)
- turn-ins have a 24h cooldown now!
- guess what? by paying a reset stone you can reset the 24h cooldown instantly
- ugh we had some complaints, the cooldown for resetting the cooldown (yo dawg) is now 24h aswell.
- okay guys the cooldown for the reset stones is out again!
- um... turn-ins don't give double exp anymore, sorry!
- oh! turn-ins are now for all kinds of level ranges without gap, but you can only hunt one kind of monster instead of two.

that sounds a bit complicated, here it is a bit simplified:

- guys, leveling is now faster than ever!
- leveling speed back to normal!
- faster again (secretly permanent)
- a bit slower again
- faster again (with payment requirement)
- now slower again
- faster!
- slower!
- further slower!

or even more simplified:

- hey guys! concerning the leveling speed of the game: we have no :thumb: clue what we're doing.

so yeah, that's why the majority of people on here might not embrace the thought of complimenting the GMs for their great job.

Why add something in the game thats gonna allow you to get to end game content in 2 weeks then expect everyone to be happy when they realize they have nothing to do cause there is no end game content? There is nothing to strive for. theyve ruined it all unless i want to hunt mvps cards. And im not dumb enough to believe i have a possible chance to get one. And dont mention Et its way too easy. just take an hour or two out of your life to do it and you will see. We cant blame this on KRo because they dont hand out 150/50 to everyone. So why are they going to make new end game content when everyone does not make it there so fast. In my mind our Gms took the game into their own hands when implementing these -_-ty turn ins. And now they act like well we cant help ya there we have to wait on KRo. If KRo allows there ther divisions to make these turn ins then we should be allowed to make what ever we want. And im not saying go all private server on there ass but really GMs? you do all this and expect us not to be angry??

You guys are still going on about this thread? Me and Agaham and afew other people have pretty much went over most, if not all the points to be talked about - I originally made this thread to praise the way they changed things and tried to modernize the game

That is all... CALM DOWN NOW LOL

So the game is better now?
I wonder what happened to all the threads saying this game sucks now, and how the experienced players miss pre-renewal.

I was a casual player when I played. I use to woe, but I stopped because I didn't want to feel like I HAD to be on at certain times (I do have a life outside of RO) I enjoyed RO the most when I was in a leveling party. A lot of people complain that that partying is slower then soloing, but with my skills anyway, partying was always quicker. I basically got to the point that I hated the idea of soloing my higher level charas. Lower level charas weren't that bad because it went quicker and I don't go through potions a lot. But, on my higher level charas like my 118 RK and 105 ranger, soloing was too much of a pain. In order to be remotely quick I ended up having to blow through 100+ white pots an hr. And, I can't solo my fs AB. I would rather party with a group that has a support even if it was slower then what I could achieve by soloing. Partying with friends and guild mates was fun, but over time a lot of them have left the game and most of my friends and guildmates that are still around are in different time zones and usually not active until I need to get to sleep. KC quest events were the best. I left RO just as the weekly quests started, so maybe I would have a better chance at finding parties now. Back when they first started though, it always seemed that no one did the high level ones so it never worked for my high level charas.
I would probably fit in with the Korean mind set on leveling. I enjoy the journey, but I would still like to have at least one 150 so I can be reckless and not worry about the exp loss. :thumb:
And to be honest, the ever expanding Kafra shop has also killed it for me. I would rather the game be P2P and make items like BMs and gum available by in game means.
My 2 cents

How fast-paced the game is really entirely up to you, as the player. If you rush yourself to get to the highest level and all, then the game is surely going to go quickly, especially with the changes Renewal and whatnot has brought upon it. But if you take your time, do things other than leveling (quests, item hunting, socializing, exploring, etc), then it's going to last at least a while.

Not as long as it did before, no, but it still lasts.

Every person can have a different experience if they so please, so there are different paces for everyone. Personally I like how RO is now (I liked it before too, and I'm not of the opinion that either is better than the other), and I'm speaking as a person who has been with the game since late 2003/early 2004 -- it has lasted me this long, and I will probably always be able to make it last somehow.
