So such-and-such class is underpowered, and such-and-such class is overpowered and you need such-and-such gear to succeed and need to spend x amount of dollars in order to be good...

but how much?

If I wanted to be the BEST player in the game, what do I need?

What class do I need to play?
What alts do I need to have?
What sort of friends do I need to have?
What gears are absolutely necessary to be the best?
How much money do you need to spend exactly, and on what? If you buy 50k kafra points, but spend them all on worthless things, it means nothing.

If playing skill is no issue, and dedication is no issue, what class do you need to play and what knowledge in the ways of playing do you need to have to be the best player in the entire game. All playing situations. What is the best?

Don't give me the "Well, it depends..."

I don't care what it depends on, what does it take, exactly, to be the best?

Sorry. I didn't figure the question was serious so I wasn't either.

It's hard to say, each has their own preference. Personally I prefer my GX, since the only change that affected it was the damage increase and range extension in Rolling Cutter. Which is friggin' AWESOME, by the way.

Your questions are pretty compicated, it is like asking whats the wisdom behind the knowledge.. I will just leave the answers for this thread to other people..

What alts do I need to have? level 90 sword/spear mercenary and level 99 homunculus with decent AI
What sort of friends do I need to have? Ones with access to a GodHammer (MJ)
What gears are absolutely necessary to be the best? GOD ITEMS!! Mainly Shoes and Hammer

How much money do you need to spend exactly, and on what? If you buy 50k kafra points, but spend them all on worthless things, it means nothing. Consumables, Hell Plants, Acid Bombs, Slim Potions.. become a guild potter, youll get everything you need!

Not go by the ever changing,volatile and extremely subjective definition of the best as defined by others.
Make your own definition of what is best based on what is fun for you and what works as you see it factoring your circumstances and dedication to accomplish it .
Define the best and be it , Nobody can beat that unless you wish it ofc

What class do I need to play? All of them, when appropriate.
What alts do I need to have? Level 150 of each class.
What sort of friends do I need to have? Good ones that will run raids with you when convenient.
What gears are absolutely necessary to be the best? Every piece of gear/card combo possible. At least 3 of each.
How much money do you need to spend exactly, and on what? Once you stop spending money, you are no longer the best. You need to keep spending. As much as you have.


If you need to ask "what do I need to be the best". You are not the best. You just have to know you are the best.

If I can hazard a guess, I'd imagine Sera is asking because there is lots of accusations about one or another class being OP. If they wanted to take advantage of that and be OP and had unlimited resources to do so, what class, gears, etc. would you need to have?

I'm a new player, I quit playing my hunter when I read in the forums that rangers are weak and most parties don't accept them. I'm not updated about the new changes, what made you say that rangers are pretty boss now?

this time rangers are like wanted in parties cause of the arrow storm dmg they make with or without white wing suit.their dmg are now comparable with warlock aoe or maybe better then warlock aoe :X

I'm a new player, I quit playing my hunter when I read in the forums that rangers are weak and most parties don't accept them. I'm not updated about the new changes, what made you say that rangers are pretty boss now?

Easiest class to solo now, really high damaging AoE with big area, the ability to attack from cammo makes it possible to gather a mob -> cammo -> kill without being touched. Nice damage on warg skills too...

I don't have white wing set, just an elven bow and arrows, and I'm easily doing 27k+ hits on mobs.

Most of you just don't get it. Read what I mentioned about the gunslinger. You will never be the best on a gunslinger. Ever.

They are so much better than a Warlock. They do 80k-90k Arrow Storm damage on Scarabas full buffed and endowed. Warlocks can only dream to get even 70k damage with their Crimson Rock unless they got a Crimson Set from Mora. I'll say Ranger is the best PvM class in the game atm, even far better than Sorcerers or pre-balance patch Maestros.
