It would seem reasonable to me that if a level 70 trans character decided he or she wanted to do every quest in the game (not including turn-ins or eden quests), that they would be ~120. That's still only 50 of the 249 total levels which is only 20% of the journey as far as levels but only about 18% of the EXP needed. You can still get far more than that from questing in other MMOs. Just think of how long it would take to do all those quests with all the item collecting, timers between talking to NPCs, and monster hunting. If the iRO staff wants people to log in more, what better way to do it? It stimulates the economy and gets people engaged in the RO universe.

Look at the latest mora quests, the short daily ones reward a few coins while the onetime only reward ~10 and the longest which takes a day or two awards ~40.
There's no sense in some of the older quest's EXP rewards, and let's not talk about item rewards, that could use some work too.

Some of them do have a good story, but when you have done them a million times, you just don't care anymore.

They should have never reduce the exp you get from the quests when renewal came in!
They broke the complete QuestSystem.
For Example:
You get, if you do the complete Biolabs Arc Quest ONLY 1 Million EXP.
Think of how dangerously it is to go to BIO 1 and 2 ON YOUR OWN!
I did the Arc Quest and I died so often that at the end I got -EXP
The Quest System needs an Renewal themselfs! Exp should get higher, considered where you need to go and what you need to do!

But you need to go to the place you want to redeem. Ex: Eden for EMB, Mora for Mora coins, battlegrounds for KVM, and so on~

What would you think of something like Eden Group badges being added to the reward at the end?
I think it has to be EXP. Not being able to progress in the game by following along with the story and doing quests is a very bad design flaw in an RPG. MMO or otherwise.
Spending hours of time just to get a few Eden Badges that we can spend on Reset Stones or Manuals and then end up doing more turn-ins or grinding isn't a good use of our time.

I would also suggest a HUGE multiplier on the current exp rewards, 10x across the board should be about right. 110k exp is a minute of grinding, if that. There's no risk of giving low levels 10 levels from a quest, because the game's built-in cap of just under 2 levels of xp will block that. I'm pretty sure the highest quest reward in the game is The Sign at 2.5 mil, and while 25 mil may sound a bit nuts, that quest takes 3-4 days to finish, so that's actually about right for the effort involved.

Well i happy to see this one come up. I would love the quest to have a better reward that way people can work on my continuation of it ^_^. Im still thinking of the reward for it though. Hmmmmm

Basically, it's fine... but not very "rewarding".
Look in the fungi quest section, there's allready a thread with better rewards for quests (I can pm you the link if you want).
If I go on a quest, I wish for a cool item or nice exp. Basically, just increasing the ammount of EXP should be enough, maybe also updating some of the items, like the Sign, which are hard to aquire but lost it's value. Like the Sign.
Headgears are still fine as they are, since most quest headgears were purely for style anyway.
Btw, except for the Accessory, the Sign Quest is still one of those quests which is actually rewarding. The EXP you get isn't thaaaat bad (could be better, but it's still not bad, really) and it gives you access to Geffenia. What annoys me more is the devalued accessory and the left-over items, like "Ancient Translation". Would be great if this gets an effect - or would become able to trade in (in the hope it's not needed in a new quest kRO comes up with...)

Guild Wars makes use of efficient utilization of their in-game contents by having rotating daily quests and achievements that encourage people to complete all missions (normal and hard difficulties - separate achievements) with the highest level of achievement.

non-exp rewards would certainly be a more rewarding (and probably more labour intensive) alternative. idk but is kRO expanding the NPC flag/marker system to include quests? if so could have quest starter NPC's in eden area somewhere that directly you to actual quest starts (if adding eden badges to them, cool idea)

Insta 149 to 150. =P
There are a few others that also give decent rewards, though not always for how much time is involved (Sign Quest). I believe in my dream world I changed the EXP for that quest to a total of around 7.5 million.

Dear Oda,
its not about any bonus stuff to get from the Quests.
Just give the Quest their lost ,,0" back so they give million exp again instead of 100thousand. Thats all we are asking for.
While you are on in, check the difficulty of the quests and what you got to do an increase the exp of those quests (Biolabs Arc, The Sign).

One thing the game needs is not just EXP level based quests.... but Job level based Quest.
They pay you guys for Ideas?
This idea should of been in the game for SEVERAL YEARS?
It be why I'd never HIRE YOU.
No offense though; you do your best... for all I know you did make the suggestion but it got 'Denied'.
But still, I came back recently a few months ago
Finally 99 since RO Beta but when turning into 3rd Class, Job Skills REALLY HURT and take a long time to earn.
Kind of why I stopped playing... also Work interferes with Gaming.(Mortgage ya know).
Aside from that matter is looking at your Competition;
In AoC
PVP is way more up there with wasd movement / watching 5 directional defense while circle strafing.
But... you can be logged off for a 3 weeks to a Month+... and you OFFLINE LEVEL UP, on your return.
I liked that; took out some of the Grind.
In the end we play these games cause of our Online Friends.
Haven't played it for a while still;
But at least I know I made a Max Level Assassin not even PLAYING THE GAME; that felt like a reward for being a MEMBER of the community;
What they don't give you is GOLD/INGAME CURRENCY I can agree with this why; Kill to Earn your Own at least.
What people forgot is this; Moneh in the real world is basically three things you do for your Children.
Food, Clothes, Shelter.
In MMO Gaming -> Nobody likes looking the SAME period; sure got the same Job/Class
But people are willing to SPEND money too look different if the PRICE is reasonable.
I just bought 3 Southpole shirts for $18.00, In 2007... that was like $120.00~150.00
Bought the girlfriend "PINK" clothing, "NAVY BLUE" clothing, "Victoria Secret" clothing, few pairs of "SHIEK" shoes for 380.00 but in 2007, that would of been $1200+.
This is what people are forgetting; the economy is down... make money by VOLUME.
Stop thinking like a corporation; and start thinking like a -Person in Society-,
RO is kind of like a OVERPRICED CHURCH to me; I would rather DONATE to keep this game going then "SPEND" for profit after so many years.
Start thinking like the -Imagination of the Church of Prontera- and working like that; instead of being.

Well my personal opinion is that an increase in quest rewards should in turn ban Battle Manuals as a way to increase them further. Look at the description: "This well written, detailed manual explains effective battle methods". Why should it increase quest rewards? 50 mil EXP for any of the current quests RO has is too much though, you're right, but I wouldn't be upset if they put a huge quest in that was worth that much.Unfortunately a simple fix like that would make a few quests absolutely insane. The Seal Quest, for one. I shudder at the thought of people gaining 50 million EXP per run of that quest. That's not even counting a 3x Manual.
Insta 149 to 150. =P
Also, why resist the ability for a person to level their character through intensive questing instead of grinding? If people are spending long periods of time on quests, then why shouldn't they be rewarded the same as someone who spends long periods of time killing the same monster over and over? They're both spending the same amount of time in the game, neither of them are AFKing, and theoretically, the person doing quests still has to kill monsters, will possibly be buying quest collection items (giving other members of the community a reason to collect and vend them), and will probably end up being more entrenched in the game and devoted to their character. Personally, I don't see why a person couldn't level the whole way to 150 this way (if there were enough quests), but I only suggested that as a start, 20% of the journey could be achieved through questing. As it stands now, new players won't bother to do any quests, outside of access quests, and will probably feel that RO has nothing to offer outside of the grind. That would be a sad thing considering how much development time probably went into all these, now forgotten, quests.
@refuselife
Frankly, I'm a bit befuddled by your post, but I do agree that there should be Job level based quests in RO. I've suggested something similar in the past where, for example, the Assassins Guild would give out story driven quests for members of the guild to complete for job experience. Other quests in this fashion could put players on maps where they'd be forced to use certain skills to correctly solve puzzles or kill monsters, in effect, helping to teach players how to use their characters.

1) This has already been said many times here, but increase the experience awards. They were poor pre renewal but now they're worse. Pretty much all story quests, especially the high level ones, should give a bare minimum of 1 million exp. 1mil-5mil depending on the length and difficulty. Doing a quest that takes hours or one that is the end of a quest chain and only getting 200,000 exp is a slap in the face. Another idea would have quests give exp in chunks at certain points to avoid exp wasting.
2) All quests should give Jexp. As a few others have already said, job levels are way off at the end as it is (unless you do weird things like 50% taxing or rely on quests that allow you to opt for all jexp) There are a lot of story quests only give base.
3) I may be the only one with this complaint, but a lot of quests are next to impossible to follow without constantly looking at a guide from irowiki or something. The quest dialog or probably easier, the journal entries, should be rewritten to make it easier to tell what you're supposed to do next.
