Reporting doesn't do anything, especially with Sera who gets away with bigot language in the forums. You report anything in these forums and the connection times out. You go straight to the mods and they ignore all the bs Sera does. Just mindless crap.

But on topic, there is a legitimate problem concerning party names being taken. Is someone running some kind of bot party name program or something, because I thought they just completely cleared them out not too long ago, and I have a hard time believing that out of the 500 people on Ymir, one of them has every line of Judas Priest's The Rage saved as a party name.

I had issues with certain party names not working. I was trying to use my party name as a method of guild recruiting, but it said every party name was taken. Didn't make sense at all, since I was picking very unique names, and there are only a few other people on the server who would even think to use party names that are similar. =S
I think it's a glitch.

i think they didn't clear out all the taken party names, just dropped all the characters from them and so the parties exist but are empty.

sounds like something that would happen in RO!

Can we just have a GOOD mod delete all the off topic comments in this thread, and everyone know that there is like a billion "stupid" threads but to be honest it is allowed.

There is an issue at the moment with party names when you use " " around the party name (so you can include spaces). For some reason, when we got the balance patch, the length of the name (max text characters allowed) has been shortened compared to what it was.

When you try and make a party name, which is longer than what it allows now - you get a message saying "that party name already exists" (when in reality there is no other party with that name, its just the error message its giving you)

examples

/organize "Screaming for Vengeance" - too long
/organize "Killing Machine" - ok with that one

oh and

/organize "From a fireball we came crossed sea and mountain" - no chance. lol

heh I'm not sure, I have not got around to working out what the max limit is now. Go experiment and report back. Also, I don't know if this is connected or not, but in last week's kRO patch, they removed the ability to use " " in party names - I'm not sure if that means you cant use spaces in a party name now, or no longer need " " to do them.

There should be an auto party disband if the party leader hasn't log for a long time. Most of those party names are prolly from people who quit the game while still in the party.

When I came back to RO 7-8 months ago, I recall some of my characters still in a party. xD

They reset all parties just a few weeks ago.

Just confirmed. The maximum number of characters for a party name has been changed from 23 to 15.

/organize "123456789 1234567" does not work (party name in use message)

Changed commands to not accept quotation marks.

ie. What's not accepted: /organize "[Party Name]", /invite "[Character Name] etc.

Have to assume that the quotation marks are not needed now, otherwise you would never be able to /invite anybody with a space in their name etc.

and as for party names due to the 16 character limit, I do have this one though... lol

Patch notes aren't quite correct, unless they're for a version that's not live on iRO yet. You can still use quotations to organize a party.

Btw, I discovered something weird.

Recently, I moved several characters from my main account to an alt account using the Value Added Service.

Every time I invite those alt characters on any of my characters on my main account to a party, they get muted in party and guild chat and any guild notifications such as guildies logging in/out appear on my main account characters' chat log instead of the alt account characters' chat log.
