You know me, I'd never be satisfied with something. I'm happy that lots of the skill names kept their original form, but on the other hand, there's still some things worth bringing up. Some are nitpicking, some are legitimate issues. It's up to you to decide!
Arch Bishop
AB_LAUDAAGNUS#Laudaagnus#
AB_LAUDARAMUS#Laudaramus#
Should Laudaagnus and Laudaramus be separate words like Lauda Agnus and Lauda Ramus?
Guillotine Cross
GC_ANTIDOTE#Anti Dote#
Should be one word.
Ranger
RA_RANGERMAIN#Main Ranger#
I don't follow with the meaning of 'Main Ranger'. Not that Ranger Main made much sense either.
RA_CLUSTERBOMB#Bomb Cluster#
Wikipedia tells me a cluster bomb is "Cluster munitions or cluster bombs are air-dropped or ground-launched explosive weapons that eject smaller submunitions: a cluster of bomblets." Changing the name to Bomb Cluster completely changes the meaning.
RA_SENSITIVEKEEN#Keen Nose#
The original name doesn't make much sense, and new name just sounds kind of dumb. I was thinking to myself that something like 'Keen Instinct' might be fitting?
RA_ELECTRICSHOCKER#Electric Shock#
The trap sits on the ground and repeatedly deals electric shocks to a target over a period that they are trapped. The original name 'Electric Shocker' brings to mind something that causes shocks, but'Electric Shock' sounds like a one time effect, which isn't in keeping with the actual skill effect.
All Wug Skills
I can't help but think that 'Wug' is a mistranslation. I will quote wikipedia again: "In Norse mythology, a warg is a wolf and in particular refers to the wolf Fenrir and his sons Skoll and Hati. " Since Ragnarok is based in norse mythology, I feel that 'Warg' is a more appropriate translation than 'Wug'. Also, Warg sounds cooler.
Warlock
She's alright captain!
Shadow Chaser
SC_SHADOWFORM#Shadow Formation#
The skill effect of this skill is that you become a shadow of a target player, and any damage you take is passed onto the person you are a shadow of. I feel that the orginal name 'Shadow Form' conveys this idea better, 'Formation' strikes me as an inproper interpretation of the original word.
SC_GROOMY#Masquerade-Groomy#
I'm not certain 'Groomy' is one of the 6 negative emotions that shadow chasers bestow through their magic brush. I think 'Gloomy' is the word you're looking for.
Mechanic
NC_BOOSTKNUCKLE#Nuckle Boost#
The translator wasn't aware of how to properly spell the word Knuckle, because he makes this mistake several other times too!
NC_EMERGENCYCOOL#Cool Emergency#
Re-ordering the words makes a world of a difference. In this case, the skill rapidly cools your madogear (taking damage increases your heat, which can cause you to overheat if you don't use cooling). 'Emergency Cool' or 'Emergency Cooling' makes much more sense in this case. I don't fault the translator, without knowing what the skill does, it would be easy to want to re-order the words in a way that makes more sense, but the cool in this case doesn't mean hip.
NC_SELFDESTRUCTION#Suicidal Destruction#
The Self-Destruct button is very common in sci-fi, while I don't have an issue with the way it was translated, the original name was cooler.
Wanderer/Minstrel
WM_GLOOMYDAY#Gloomy Shyness#
I'm not sure about this translation. First, gloomy shyness doesn't really seem like a right translation (sounds like more of a 'in the dark' attempt). The original skill name definately made reference to 'Gloomy', but I think the term they were aiming for in english was 'Melancholy'. jRO also called the skill 'Melancholy' because they understood the joke behind the skill.
WM_SIRCLEOFNATURE#Circling Nature#
Circle of Nature is a pretty well understood cncept. I guess I'm just nitpicking now.
WM_BEYOND_OF_WARCRY#Beyound Cry#
Not sure what a Beyound is! My original instinct was that this skill wanted to be called 'Warcry from/of Beyond'.
WM_POEMOFNETHERWORLD#Despair Song#
I guess this isn't specifically a bad translation. I'm nitpicking, but everything wanderer/minstrel is 'song', where as the original name refers to 'poem'. This is also relevant to the next one:
WM_SOUND_OF_DESTRUCTION#Destruction Song#
Same issue as the last one. The original refered to a 'Sound' of destruction, the new name says 'song'.
WM_SATURDAY_NIGHT_FEVER#Saturday Fever#
Surely you know why this should be called "Saturday Night Fever".
WM_DEADHILLHERE#At Dead Hill#
This just sucks. I'm not sure what to do though. The original name basically had the spirit of 'return them from the afterlife'. When I did my original translation, I chose 'From the Vally of Death'. It wasn't very accurate but it captured the original spirit of a skill used to resurrect someone.
Sura
SR_KNUCKLEARROW#Nuckle Arrow#
That damn Nuckle misspelling is back!
SR_GENTLETOUCH_QUIET#Gentle Touch-Silence#
SR_GENTLETOUCH_CURE#Gentle Touch-Speed#
SR_GENTLETOUCH_ENERGYGAIN#Gentle Touch-Save#
SR_GENTLETOUCH_CHANGE#Gentle Touch-Opposite#
SR_GENTLETOUCH_REVITALIZE#Gentle Touch-Alive#
I think they match the original symbol names well, except the second one seems a bit out of place. Especially for a skill that is used exclusively to heal, calling it 'speed' seems a little odd. The term 'gentle touch' refers to using presure points, but using gentle touch in the skill name isn't so bad.
SR_GATEOFHELL#Hell Gate#
More nitpicking, every single time the translator is confronted with a phrase "Something1 of Something2", he reorders it to "Something2 Something1". Gate of Hell sounded cool!
Royal Guard
LG_RAYOFGENESIS#Genesis Ray#
See gate of hell comment.
Genetic
Looks fine!
Sorcerer
SO_CLOUD_KILL#Killing Cloud#
This disapointed me. As an old D&D player, I was very sad that the translator completely missed the "Cloudkill" reference. For the uninitiated, Cloudkill is a reference to a dungeons and dragons skill, that creates a poisonous cloud that kills creatures that enter. Read all about it. I'm a strong advocate of the return of Cloudkill isntead of Killing Cloud.
