I have no doubt that if one gm spend 1 hour per day banning bots in 1 months the botting will decrease by half and in 2-3 months it only have 100+ bots and they will give up a move to other game, since they only bot on Ragnarok because they can.
Ok you say that if one char get banned he can make another one in hours, if he got his chars banned every day they will spend time making a new char and that will prevent from botting 24/7 and at long time make botting not worth.

yeah it dosn't work that way it's income for them so they will keep doing it. cabal is infested with bots my friend is a gm there he banned 500+ bots one day they were all back in 2 days. that's the reality of it it's also y ymir server is pay to create a char. if you don't like the bots move to ymir.

Is there a way to make the application process for an account more extensive or time consuming? Perhaps even adding a longer period between account submission and activation could hassle bots more.

Banning accounts and IPs isn't too effective if they can have another one up in a few minutes. =/

all making the application process more time consuming is going to do is get rid of any new players that want to try the game. i have had that problem with other games and all i do is delete find another one and start immediately. people don't want to wait to play a game.

why can people make so many bots but not ro...bots....amirite? =D

yeah but even though they do ruin the economy more bots will come up once you take those down. So whats the point. BRB spending time taking out 100 bots only for another 100 to get put in the game. Theres no winning there.

or move Ymir to Valk

Most people will gladly pay to get rid of botters.

see they could put the same system in there but i can tell you when this game was p2p there were a ton of bots paying for accounts.

and if you would gladly pay to get rid of botters then y did you start on the free server knowing there were bots there?

One reason Gravity isn't permabanning the bots is because they pay for VIP. If they permaban all the bots, they lose a ton of revenue. lol

YA RLY. Empirical evidence speaks for itself, i.e. the ballpark bot population on all 3 servers. Why are people even debating the proportion of bots to players between the VIP/non-VIP servers? It's blindingly obvious.

The only thing things are worthy of conspiracy theories on this matter are the rationale behind banning, frequency, etc. I'd hazard a guess that GMs take action on paid accounts only after a certain number of complaints have been lodged, because investigating each and every one would simply be too time consuming.

No, caught botting an account is perma-banned VIP or not. That little thing you click "I agree" to when you create an account says so, as it is a binding contract whether you read it not.
