Hey guys how important is the "Defence" stat or how does it work exactly?

If I have low level boots with slightly better stats vs higher level boots with triple the defence but lower stats which should i use?

It depends a bit. Keep both of them, see if you can survive without the extra defence. If you don't need the defence bonus on the better armor to survive you use the ones with slightly better stats (preferably attack power stat for faster killing).
