First and foremost, all the english in the entire quest needs to be re-read and polished by a native english speaker.

Once that is done, the names of Norse dieties/lessser characters are frequently spelled in bizarre ways, the should be adjusted. For example, i saw "Mimir" from Priest Dayan in umbala, I suspect that should be Ymir. The Valkyrie is consistently named Anguhilde, i'm pretty sure i've seen that spelled slightly differently in game somewhere.

Most importantly, the final part of the test spawns a Frus. Most (level 99) players will be running from the (level 120+) Frus. The Frus despawns as you pass a valkyrie sprite at the center of the map. Any player running from the frus will most likely be disconnected by the popup npc dialogue in this last step. If iRO refuses to address the disconnects related to movement with npc popups, then the last part of this quest needs to be reworked so it does not contain a popup.

Also, the Item Reward "Green Apple Ring" has the following description: "A wing that granted to Green Apples that have done 3rd job change. When accustomed to the job, wouldn't be needed." I have no idea what this thing does, and its desc offers no insight.

The ring gives +6 to all stats, and then for every 5 job levels, the stats decrease by 1, until at job level 30, when the ring gives no bonuses.

Not sure if it's a bug or something but sometimes, the popup window does this:

Nothing happens afterward and you're pretty much stuck 'till it times you out. I had that happened to me 2 or 3 times before it finally gone through. (The Frus was killed on all my tries.)


Maybe change the color for this text on the top of the screen? It takes quite a bit of staring to actually read it.

The job change quest is stuck at (job3_arch01), the room from which the Valkyrie sends you to start the battle portion of the quest. After talking to her the first time, she said to talk to her again when ready to start. Upon doing so, she says "I'm talking with another person now, so give me a second." It's been over 2 hours now and she's still giving that message.

The Frus can be dealt with fairly easily with a phen, sanctuary and KE (maybe pots as well but I didnt have the zeny for them). Its not IMPOSSIBLE, you just have to be well prepared. Its a challenge, but I feel that part should be left in. The ONLY problem I had with the quest is the first NPC you talk to should repeat what you have to say to Father Dayan (the second NPC, the priest in Umbala) if you talk to him again incase you missed it. I read the text fairly carefully but managed to miss the one thing I needed to memorize, and having the NPC repeat what you are supposed to say to him would be a great help. The rest of the quest is fairly easy.

Does anyone happen to know the max amount of time someone can be on the quest map?

I been waiting to enter it for the past three hours, I don't know if it's glitched for me or what. all it keeps saying is "I'm talking with another person now, so give me a second.". If this is normal for it, I do suggest adding in a second or even third map area for people to do the quest on since waiting three or more hours just to get into the quest map with a chance of failing it due to the glitches said above would just be ridiculous.

If someone is inside the battle map, NPC Valkyrie should be missing from that small waiting room. (Gone through waiting for someone else to finish his round before I tried mine again...) Could be a bug if she's actually appeared and says that. o_O;

Edit: I got timed out the first time around 10 minutes into the quest but I was being slow. I'm gonna guess that it's 15 minutes or so top for staying in the map. (You have 10 minutes to battle your way through and pick up the horn fragments, then probably another 5 minutes or so to get to the temple, fight the Frus, and talk to Valkyrie.) Note: You CAN time out while talking to Valkyrie on last step.

kisai is having the same problem so I don't think it's just you... Maybe something was altered during yesterday's maint? I did my job change during the weekend and it wasn't like that.


Edit: One more thing. During my many runs through the quest, there was this one time where I was able to get to the second nightmare, killed it, and spoke to the Valkyrie where she instruct me to go to the temple in the middle of the map. The "+" sign didn't changed over to the temple's location but stayed where the second nightmare were. Everything up to the Frus killing happened normally, but after I defeated it and walked close to the Valkyrie, nothing happened. I eventually just got the "I can't take it anymore" timeout. It only happened once so I'm not sure if it was just me doing the quest over and over again that caused it.

I had that happen on one run, Im not sure what triggered it tho. Maybe we missed the trigger after killing the second Dark Valk or maybe we triggered the second Dark Valk 2 times.

Not exactly "issues," but things I've noticed:

While on the Yggdrasil map:

-You need to bring 1 Holy Water, but after it's "consumed," it stays in your inventory. Not sure if that was intended.
-You sing Gloria, but you didn't necessarily have to have the skill Gloria to proceed. Also unsure if this was intended (I was kinda glad about this since my HP back on the main server doesn't have Gloria...)



During the battle portion of the test:

-I ran from the Frus and towards the Valk sprite, but I ran too far. While I didn't disconnect, the dialogue stopped with whatever came up on the pop-up and wouldn't continue. Closing the pop-up and clicking on the Valk did not re-trigger it. However, when I backtracked a bit on the map and walked back to the Valk, the dialogue came back and actually continued this time.

My wife found issues as well with the archbishop job change. In the part where you need to get to the valkyrie in the center of the map, on the first attempt no dialog started at all even if backtracking.

On the second attempt, the dialog started but she got disconnected.

On the third attempt, the quest timeouted on the second nightmare, after just few minutes, since she went very quickly through the first and the mercenary valk was still alive.

I had no real issues with the quest. At the start, I used the valk mercenary scroll and made my way to the top left. I killed the valkyrie that spawned there (blessing it makes it miss almost all the time), picked up the horn pieces, dismissed my current valk merc, and talked to the NPC. I then used the new mercenary, and then I made my way to the bottom by following the right side of the map (not going across the center). No monsters appeared when going down the right side, but still it's easy to run past monsters when you put the merc into standby. I killed the valkyrie at the bottom of the map, got 3 more horn pieces, then talked to the NPC that appeared. Then I made my way to the center of the map. The frus and skogul appeared when I ran past, but I just needed to ignore them and as soon as I got to the valkyrie they disappeared (dialog popped up automatically), and then I changed to bishop.

I had to prompt the dialog about 10-20 times for the dialog to continue, so I am guessing if you go through the battle portion too fast, anguhilde's dialog will not continue properly (though I could be wrong.)

As for the waiting room npc, may it be because someone who is going through her lengthy dialog disconnected in the middle of it, causing her to get stuck in that state? because I noticed when I talked to her, even though there were 4-5 other hps in the waiting room, she never went away until I finished reading what she had to say.

Incidentally with the current test format, I can't imagine what day 1 implementation on ymir/valk would be like because there is no waiting room to line up for your turn, it's whoever can click her the fastest (I personally was being an ass about this when I was doing the quest, because I failed 4 times in a row with disconnects and accidental dismissals, and I fought for my turns without consideration for others waiting there). Granted the quests take into account that there won't be large amounts of 99 trans going through it regularly, it's still a scary thought.

I'm the wife of Kiehl, he wrote for me, cos my English is terrible. Anyway if the problem is in the last fight, yep I made that really quickly, since my HP is a Battle and she didn't need to stop with the monsters having high flee. Tomorrow I will try again this test doing it slower.

I pretty much did what doddler did lastnight except I fought the frus since I thought it was part of the fight I needed to do (didn't see no skogul tho) frus was pretty tough for my battle HP but did win the battle then went to the valk and it went smoothly and I turned to arc bishop.

I keep dying against the undead valk. As frustrating as that is, I can live with it. ...so to speak. Anyway. I'd -like- to be able to pop out and go right back in, but apparently dying doesn't fail you. So instead, I'm stuck sitting there waiting for the timer to run out before I can try again, because the save point sends you right back to where you last saved, and there is no other option to exit back to the waiting room. When there's people waiting, this just gets more frustrating.

When you die, the test should fail. My merc died there a few times, too, and that didn't fail the test either.

Dismissing your merc may get you kicked back to the waiting room if you walk pass a certain point in the map, I think.

yeah dismissing the valk doesn't immediately get you kicked out. my first valk died because I sent her to kill the undead valk at first, not knowing she's SO MUCH WEAKER. but I didn't get kicked out so I was able to kill the undead valk myself and keep on with the quest. I had to do the quest again because I disconnected from walking across the popup, and the second time I accidentally dismissed my second valk after the second nightmare out of habit, I also didn't get kicked out immediately. With some hope I walked to the final destination but I was kicked out while walking up the ramp past the elbow.

I was really surprised when I did the quest and my mercenary died like a split second before the Valk died. The last time when the merc died, I got kicked out before I even knew what happened. Luck was very much on my side.

^ good to see these issues were considered and fixed during testing.

this quest is so ridiculously bugged right now. 3 ppl enter, 1 person w/ valk, all in party. person opens scroll, walks, the NPC dialogue that precedes people getting kicked pops up... how the-_- are you supposed to do this quest when 3 people can enter but the quest bugs if more than one person is in there?
