I thought I'd post statistical info results for upgrading and consumption by the eat gear mimic npc for any interested.


Used: 86/70 Mastersmith with lv10 upgrade weapon skill
250x +5 Buster [1] (lv 3 weapon)
179x +6 Buster [1] (+5 -> +6 71.6%)
103x +7 Buster [1] (+6 -> +7 57.5%)
30x +8 Buster [1] (+7 -> +8 29.1%)

30x +8 Buster [1] to eat gear mimic:
8x success (2 certs - 26.7%)
22x fail (1 cert - 73.3%)



Yield:
38x weapon certs

Cost:
31.24m 1562x Oridecon (@20k per on valk)
6.46m 250x Buster 1 (@25,840z per from npc)
.075m (15x inn for SP)
500z (10x kafra storage)
1140z (10x b wing)
1800z (1x warp to alberta)



Total Cost: 38.77844m
Total Yield: 38x Weapon certs

Statistical means nothing to this game.
You'll be left with maybe 10 at most with that many upgrades.

180 elunium on cheap body armor got me exactly 1 body cert.
So bad.

It just shows its more viable to trade in for weapon certs giving the cost of materials + the additional success of a mastersmith using weapon upgrade.
