Is there a certain program people use to film, in-game? If so could someone post a link? I've never done it before. :p_swt:

-You are allowed to use iRO in-game contents, music, and art assets for this contest

this means you can not use any non iro related stuff in the videos at all or that you can use iro content if you wish? , even though you would think
that would be obvious.

You can use iRO content (though I would be leery of using music that isn't CC licensed/Royalty free, etc.) without having to worry about the legal issues from our end.

So a few questions!

1) Does the video absolutely have to be 5 minutes long?

2) What if we make a mini series, and each part is 5 minutes long. Would that count as multiple submissions, or is it not allowed? I'd rather make a combined video (for a single submission) instead of separating it into a series due to the 5 minute limit.

3) Are we allowed multiple submissions?

We're working on getting a FTP set up where people can submit their videos. We'd love to see in-progress vids uploaded to youtube as well.

Under five minutes is preferred as in many cases it's easier to mitigate production costs and keep a story focused, but if you have a good enough reason to go longer/multipart I don't see why not.

Submitting multiple entries is ok but these should be for different categories (you do a funny video, you do a serious video, etc), though we'll probably have to have it so you can only win once as these cash prizes are pretty significant.

Agh, just when I'm away from my main computer with just the Atlantic ocean in the middle!!!I have footage there to make a funny romantic movie ingame T_T in there from a long project, well would be next time =S

actually as an example of a good film about just fighting pm/pvp/woe would be this

since the player took good, funny, weird, serious and bad momments and made a story :)

and for funny dance videos, one of the best examples is by a iro member, her videos has been seen by a lot of latin players and love it since her guild got the moves and didn't limited to a type of class ;) would be more epic if it had a close up

But I'm interested to see if someone top one of my fav videos

But I think also keep simple is good, one of the best stories so far in any video is so simple and heartwarming... plus one of the oldest stories in video I had seen of RO :)

Hmm... what about the RO2 soundtrack(s)?

Anyhow I've got an idea for a submission more along the lines of LoL's Castle... but I don't have all the right tools, and possibly not the time for it.... or the benefit of working on a pserver where you can control a lot more ingame. (Though I know some tricks, they won't get me as far.) >_> Will have to see how this goes.

I kind of wish there was more time (fps is gonna suuuuck), but probably too long and people would just forget about it. I have a feeling animation will be in the minority anyway...

If there was more time I WOULD make an animation, but the thing is, a week isn't enough with me working 6 days .___.

Just a question.

-Video resolution must be 720p or better, 16-9 aspect ratio.

Is it a must? I have a laggy computer and can barely process a 720p video. Is it ok if I can submit a standard definition video?

Doing an animation with my current resources is easier on an SD video. And also, there is that time constraint. 1 month is too short considering that I am very busy with my existence (not life). :sob:

I think exceptions can be made if that's what makes the difference between having something and not having something at the festival.
