Let me just say that this was handled horribly. Not only were we not informed on how to make the characters (turns out there was a separate client), many people can't even get that client to run correctly. It resorted to a "who-has-the-best(luckiest)-computer" race.

I don't make threads often, so you know that this was a disaster.

Yeah, sure, once you realized that a separate patcher even existed. Even there, there were errors.

Can you point to me where it said that? My patcher says:

Not sure why my client doesn't show that. I've re-patched it multiple times. When did that notice come up? After they started the name-grabbing or beforehand?

I also didn't get any indication of what to do on my own Patch Notice. That message is still not there for me. o_o If I didn't look the the forums, I wouldn't have thought that there was another client added.

Well apparently we can send in a ticket if someone snatched our name and it's a unique one that is pretty established in the RO community. I guess there's still hope for me.

I got the error at first, but it was entirely my own fault for rushing in and not reading and using the correct client.
Not going to try and pass blame off.

The ones who are saying it was handled fine or turned out OK are the ones who got the names they wanted or who had the correct patcher. I don't log into forums and my patcher wasn't updated. What was I supposed to do?

The message to run the Classic client only showed up for me after I ran the Renewal client as Admin, like it said to at the very bottom.

I just wish that they'd mentioned the need for the ClassicRO client along with all the announcements they made everywhere.

can anyone have found a solution for this? i enter using regular patch, created a char name and hair and clicked ok, then the client freezes i alt+f4 and log in again and there is no chars, when i log in on the other client i got that classical error, i tryied patch everything but i always end up with that error, and on normal client i get size char error.

i think my chars are created but i cant acess or see them
