Well there's the easy way and the hard way. The easy way won't help you in the long run when it comes to running other windows programs and updating the compatibility layer (WINE.) I suggest this method, as it solidly installs WINE (A windows compatibility layer that doesn't require Windows or anything that costs money at all!) Macports is the way to go.

It's a bit of a lengthy process, but much of it is self explanatory and easy. The "hard" part is when you actually compile WINE - it took my poor lil' Mac Mini like 25 minutes straight. But hey - once it's all good to go, you can run anything on your mac compatible with WINE. I run many 3D games with it just fine, RO included! Once WINE is installed, you can run .exe programs. The way I usually do it is open a terminal (from the utilities folder on Mac OS) and type "wine " then drag-drop the .exe onto the terminal window and it'll paste the file's path in front of it, such as "wine path/to/program.exe", and whacking the enter button runs it. My custom launcher simply automates that - it tells the system to go to the RO folder, and execute WINE with RO's file name, and RO pops right up, like magic! Lemme know if you need help beyond this

Also, people wanting to play Ro on Mac OS, here's an EASYMODE way that i use http://www.codeweavers.com/products/
Instead of trying to do the whole wine thing yourself, the program helps out a lot, and theres also like an Easy mode install called "Cross Ties" that you can use to help get the game running without messing with it yourself.
But chea..
I could probably toss the program your way if anyone wanted. (Free of course. Just PM me.)

Edit: Woah.. Didn't notice how much crossover costs now. >> i remember when it was 20$. (Even though i get everything free being an advocate on the site. @_@)
