I'm really not a social person in mmos, which I know is strange for playing an mmo.
But there's a strange calming effect from not being instantly 70+ and not having to worry about having the "proper" gear.

Classic is fun but im too tired from work to fully enjoy it tonight. I think ill try tomorrow and get some good ol' fashioned grinding in.

I hooked up with a buncha old cRO players and been grinding away alllllll day and having many lols.
So much better than 30 minute TI and log out.

And the towns are full of nubs recruiting for parties and random conversation.

lvl 61 Archer and so far it ROCKS. It really sucks that the Hunter Job change is bugged but I will just try to enjoy OD some more =D

Well it seems like Gravity is trying his best to keep me (and all others right now) from leveling further xD

Me too, I'm very happy with this server! I played in valkyria like a year ago, and really didn't like it, so I droped RO after playin like 6 years... this is just awesome, make full partys , laugh when all of them hit the floor, or like yesterday, when a swordy survive a sonic blow of a peco with 1 hp, i just laugh my ass off XDD. I have no equip, and don't care. Travel around the world looking for a monster that don't kill me too fast , it's just happiness for me XD.

Pretty much.

Nobody is recommended to solo around there, it's no fun at all.

Playing Classic alone is one of the worst experiences ever. So people, party more, because it's fun.

The problem is. Will the game continue the way it is right now after a part of the playerbase becoming higher levels? When like 20% of the server is over 80 or something~

i'm having fun aswell. since pre-renewal is alot harder it feels alot more rewarding to get anything.

when a skeleton in payon cave dropped a lousy skeleton ring i was all like: "OMIGOSH i'm rich, i'm gonna NPC this for 5K zeny and never have to worry about anything anymore! forever."

or NPC buying a new weapon that's actually an improvement over your old weapon.

or geting like 1 or 2 points of str and actually see a difference in the damage you deal.

i'm also looking forward to a crapload of cards being useful again. like whisper or mummy, and of course all cards with +def.

now i only need old payon and i can die in peace.

I fell asleep more than 10x in byalan, grinded til i made my swordsman 54/40, gah 10 more jlvls /swt

But it was hella fun mob-pull killing those stupid botters in OD /gg

Funny, when I read the title I was thinking the same thing. Only my thinking was that Classic served the purpose of delivering the final blow to Ymir. Gravity staff had to know that was coming by launching Classic. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they have to go where the demand is, but I didn't expect them to kill their oldest server to do it. I would hope that they offer free transfers off Ymir as well (if no merger is planned), because I won't pay to remedy a situation that they caused, and after over eight years of RO, I'm not willing to start over on Classic (even with how much fun everyone is claiming to have).

This whole thing is an interesting referendum on Renewal and how kRO has managed it though. I wonder if they'll get the hint finally that that Renewal is broken (something we've all known for a long time) and do something about it, or if they'll just continue development in RO 213. Heim or Oda, do you have any insight as to what kRO thinks about this?
