Make sure you use the thief npc next to pyramids enterance. It gives you some extra exp and items. Mukas are good exp. But are few. Payon dungeon is great exp and there are always parties there. When that gets easy, next come wolves 2 south of payon. Plenty of parties there if you want, until you can solo. Then you move to Toy Factory with an aco and mage, and you're set until you can solo. Normally this brings you to sin, which you then go to west orc village. Again goodluck, it's a tough journey compared to wizzies/hunters.

Before 40 my leveling journey was payon cave 1>geffen dungeon 1>wolves>orc village

Well here is my leveling way up to 40 which had no Kafra Items or enhancements involved along the way (so definetly doable):

1-11: Rockers because they don't hit that hard, hit slower and therefore spared me some pots for the first levels on Mukas later on. You can find them one map south and one map west from Prontera.

11-15: Was a bit tedious from 14-15 but I killed Baby Desert Wolves and Condors. They are good exp and provide decent income (Oranges at 10%: 150z and Bows at 1,5%: 500z). In some Maps there are 10-15 Yellow Plants crowded at one spot.. kill them and get the herbs. First they are free potions if you convert them to yellow potions and second yellow potions are quite worth something (275z) - funds you a better dagger. Good Map for everything mentioned here is one map north and one map east from morroc - mainly because there is no competition.

If you happen to go out of pots somewhere in that range go to Ant Hell and kill the Ant eggs at the entrance. They don't fight back and 4 of them are a free Baby Desert Wolf kill.

15-26: Mukas... Mukas all the way. At Base Level 30 I had enough flee to bearly have to pot anymore. None the less kill any Baby Desert Wolf you see for the free Meat and Oranges of course. Find a good amount of them 2 Maps east from Morroc, tho you most likely will not be the only one.

26-32: Spores and Poison Spores. Yea I know... but they are quite good really!! 2 Spores are a normal Wolf in Job-Exp and 2 Maps down from Payon is a Map SWARMED with them where no one levels at all. No "searching" for mobs, no competition. The Poporings there are decent experience as well but I mainly killed them for Grapes. From Spores on it really went faster than at Mukas or Wolfs and they need only 110 Flee. As a thief that should be easy to reach. If you feel brave might go to geffen dungeon.

32-40: I favorite Toy factory here because you can steal those well-baked cookies and sell them. Nothing to do with your SP anyway right? A reminder tho: they hit hard for your level - if you don't have enough Flee i don't recommend it (you need around 148 FLEE i think). Else try Wolves or if all options run dry might as well go for the mostly overlooked savages.. or it is Spores again lol.

Geffen dungeon is a great spot until level 50. High spawn rates equals maximum killing and xp intake. If you have the new rental gears you should be able to solo Toy Factory F2 from 50-60. You will make the most zeny looting/stealing from Toy factory, at least 50k every one to two hours.

And Im doin my job 50-ing solo at Byalan Lv 3~4, low base/job exp but the spawns are good and easy to kill so yea...

right now chilling in Coal mines lv 3 - got a Safety Helmet but no Skel Worker card ]:
Mysts give good exp, skel workers less so but im gathering mats for elemental damascus (lots of steel, coal, iron, iron ore!)

yeah with the propeller im at 177 flee, which is a good amount but really need 200 and above for the good exp stuff X:

not really. it takes like 15 mins to get items for job change even if you haven't been storing stuff in kafra in advance but hours to get 10 more job levels. and the items are much easier to find than good exp spots. and for rogue test you have to collect crap anyway even at job 50

gladius kind of makes sense i guess except you won't have cards for it yet and when you do there's probably gladiuses for sale already

Yea, too lazy for item farming tests, and it was really I do need my job 50 for my GC build.

Idk, I've always liked getting job 50 on everything. I don't mind spending just a few more hours on my character that will give a permanent edge (well, until trans is released ).

Btw, Yoyos are great for like base levels 40-50. They fall quickly and give excellent base exp. Mediocre job exp, but it's still worth it.

I'd personally recommend Cocos and Smokies map for thieves up to 40 and even up to 50. It's a great opportunity get yourself a slotted hood and slotted sandals.

I literally have 11 Hoods [1] and 4 Sandals [1] because I stayed at Toy Factory 1 for like a year, lmao.
