Im pretty sure stat foods are suppose to wear off upon death , pretty sure I even sall it posted by the mods that its the mechanics. I could be wrong though.

No, correct but it was mentioned in the thread about cooking as a problem.
I believe the idea was to give this option for stats food made by cooking to raise the worth against +7 food you can buy with KP.

^ I encountered Waste Stoves in Einbech before the maintenance aswell. Maybe it's a normal dayly or weekly spawn, just like Tarous spawn in Einbech and Einbroch, too.
I thought though, that with todays maintenance, they would remove the Pirate Hat quest D:
