You are right AscarisL. My issue is same as yours. I spend over 300+ net and i gave up. Im pretty sure it is a bug that they havn't fix yet. We can't do anything about it =)
I've been trying for 3 hours now and I still haven't caught one...
*sob* good to know that it isn't just me, I hope GMs fix this soon (ah.. wish full thinking)
Im going to link you to a Topic that is in the Bug report section
If you skip the nets and just kill them... You should be able to complete the quest with no problems.

We need more hooded Aspers on the maps
We need more mobs in Orlo...Period
PvM content that's on the way and currently in game is great, if you like instances and such, but, some more mobs on Orlo maps wouldn't hurt especially for those who enjoy solo'ing.
Also: Reduce the Def of Mastyx's Archaic mastyx's, which btw is currently set at a whopping 2460 for the Mastyx and 3019 for the Archaic's, thats way too much, what makes them even more "horrible" is there current AP ( Mastyx 1409, Archaic 2103 ), I've seen Knights at level 215+ helpless when they face a Mastyx 1 v 1, even my champ with 6k+ def ( obv buffed ) has a hard time standing there, 5 mastyx vs 1 Champ/Knight....Doesn't go down to well.
Just for comparison and justification purposes:
Crowned Asper Commander
We need some mob balancing done

quick question. does it take a while to get the Asper Meats and Asper Skins? Cause I've been killing dessert and hooded aspers, and i'm not getting them. I've gotten 12 each already.
You need to kill exactly the Hooded Asper and Desert Aspers, not Assasin, Hunter, or any other variation. It will take 10 of each to get a single proof. Don't be discouraged, it may take 30 minutes to get 5 and 5.

I am trying these quests for the first time and MAN they suck so much.
I can't get the blasted skins from Hooded Aspers, I've taken the damaged equipment pieces to the movies, to dinner and given them flowers and the last 3 still don't put out. The cactuses are as dry as a granny's kitty. I've spent HOURS and I can't complete a single piece of poop quest. There is a point in where something becomes annoying rather than challenging or whatever. No wonder I used to skip them. Thumbs down.

Things always start working out after I've complained about it. Suddenly got all the skins pretty much in a row. Found the ONE cactus I had accidentally missed. Gave an equipment piece a lap dance and now I am at 4. The remaining 2 equipment pieces are sadly immune to such an approach. What do I do. I just can't get them. .__.

Keep trying to get the equipment, and try all the pieces shown in the map, if you've been at it for hours something may be wrong and try to relog. In the beginning of Orlo I noticed I was sometimes at the wrong site >.<. Should you fail to get any of the pieces take a breather. So long as you have all 3 quests in your questlog you will have acces to the maps beyond the Golden Ring, so it wont matter, you can get the Muris quest seperatly. If you feel like throwing the computer out of the window you can contact me on Logiban and I will help you accomplish this xD

Try walking past one of the others, I know you might already have gotten them but in the busy work of running a round I have made an error in remembering which one I had sometimes, you might have done it correctly and I'm talking nonsense, but since you are running for hours it wont really hurt I guess.

These quests are probably the hardest to do in the whole game. I can get the parts easily enough, and the water. The food one is ok except for trying to get the skins. I have to kill a gazillions Hooded Aspers to get 5 lousy skins. And to make matters worse, some classes it is almost impossible to complete these quests without help. If any of you guys are on Leonis, and you think you need help, pm my champ.
Here is a tip for the Salvageable parts quest. I do it in the same order each time. I always start at the West Wastelands, at the spot in the upper left corner (Crowned Asper King). This way, if I have to stop before I complete it, I can pick up right where I left off.
