Amazon EC2 is what my office uses and the cost to keep the servers up 99% of the time is ridiculous. It's a nice service but I doubt a game could use it well.Yea maybe you guys would benefit from something like a Amazon EC2 or Rackspace, more reliable connections
Throwing more power at something isn't always going to make it any better, per se. Sometimes it's the plumbing that needs a facelift.

And really, I live in the US and I use Lowerping/WTFast software for my connection. You're playing a free game hosted in another country, it's gonna lag no matter who is hosting it. You're gonna need WTFast or Lowerping.

Is it possible to have an answer from an admin ?
No, he has disconnected.
Merge Ygg into Valk. Reduce resources being spent. Distribute the servers across Valk and Classic.
I like this idea. But don't they have slightly different mechanics on each of those servers?

WTFast is like $5 per month. You can google SSH Tunneling and set up your own if you want.Well I wouldn't mind if these programs were free, but I'm not sure I will put 10$ per month in this.

Anyway we found a free way to reduce lags, so we will be able to join iRO if woe times are correct.
But of course, we would love to have better servers.

Same mechanics. Same bot to player ratio. No difference. Two identical servers running side by side.

It is very hard for me to get my friends to take this game seriously when they get disconnected 100 times their first day playing. How is that for a first impression?
I hope for a GM response. Yet, I do not expect one. I will keep this thread alive until the basics of an MMO are provided.

isn't the problem with classic because of the buggy unsupported hackjob codebase they slapped together for a game that wasn't designed to work? and not because of hardware stability?
How would we know? We don't get any feedback. I disconnect when I change maps, character select, teleport, & bwing. Occasionally I can't login for hours at a time and the computer next to me can connect.
Whether it is due to server, connection, or code, we need a fix for it.

You would know because heim said a couple times its a problem with the software of the pre-renewal server and not the hardware. Like it says in the maint notes they were trying to address the software problems. How would we know? We don't get any feedback. I disconnect when I change maps, character select, teleport, & bwing. Then he should make a thread on it so that normal users don't have to dig through maintenance notes to find out what is going on with a basic function like connectivity. It's unprofessional.
