If renewal, I wouldn't worry about MVPing until you're genetic.

I like MVPing on Biochemist. I've been doing small scale MVPs such as Phreeoni, Orc hero, Pharaoh, Orc lord.. but would like to invest in better gear

Triple Kingbird Twin Edge ®
+9 Evil Marching Hat
Heroic Backpack (though you'd only be able to get 2 stats to 90, at most )
Even though it may not be practical, I support you in your quest to MVP as a Biochemist.
I did something similar, MVPing on my Lord Knight during the first three weeks of Renewal, and was able to take down guys like Atroce, Lord of the Dead, Boitata, and Turtle General. Hopefully, you'd be able to pull it off, and more importantly, have fun!

Some gear suggestions not yet mentioned:

It's true I can't survive Earthquake, but with MrStick handy to tank for me I do just fine :3 hopefully I'll be able to do it eventually with amistr, with practice. I maybe respawn once, but otherwise ok when I'm up against Orc Lord. Just gotta be careful to be offscreen when EQ goes off. Not very efficient compared to genetic, but I'm not doing it for the loot, so that's okay with me. Probably not gonna end up taking on valkyrie or anything... Realistic MVPs for me. (= And of course there's competition - win some, lose some. Even against genetics, timing is everything - if I find it first, I can usually finish it off before they find me. I've been doing okay MVPing so far with a little help! Killing orc lord lord and pharaoh as we speak with aid pot build and nothing but +7 ele sword, +7 backpack and variants, lol. Once I reset and get better gears I'll only improve. Hopefully soon, I'll be able to do it on my own.
Thanks for the suggestions =D
edit: what's a good substitute for glorious rings? Will be a while before I get those on this account. X.x

AK helm
triple archer skel red sieger
elemental armor(fire, water, wind; depending on my mood)
alice carded valk shield
immune nidgarb
phen clip
tele accessory/four leaf clover accessory/horong accessory
and lots of ranked slims/mastellas, this is not the best but just this is enough to tank most mvps.

I solo mvps like atroce, gopinich, turtle gen and many more using a biochem lvl 9X with this gears:
AK helm
triple archer skel red sieger
elemental armor(fire, water, wind; depending on my mood)
alice carded valk shield
immune nidgarb
phen clip
tele accessory/four leaf clover accessory/horong accessory
and lots of ranked slims/mastellas, this is not the best but just this is enough to tank most mvps.
thanks =D Why red seiger over elemental sword?

They also mentioned that Matk has minimal effects on AB damage (it's Int that matters).
Edit: Kafra Blossom accessories are good alternatives to G.Rings. Or Ring of Flame Lord / Vesper Core 02, if you want to boost damage a bit more.
A set of elemental & Porcellio Orlean's Gowns is also nice, so you won't have to use a Phen when no one's tanking for you.
