Are cards not stealable ? Thought steal was suppose to have the same loot table as drops .....

Nope cards are not steal-able. In fact, it's actually the 8th slot of a drop-table of a monster that is not steal-able (or 9th slot, 10th slot, etc), which the card is usually placed at. Back in the days some monsters used to have cards on the 7th slot which made stealing it possible, but now they changed and fixed most of it.

As far as I'm aware most gear can be stolen.
I once stole a crystal pumps from a marionette, and crystal pumps from marionettes have the same drop rate as cards.

That's a once in a blue @&$*!%& moon kind of thing though.

There aren't 9th and 10th drop slots, only 8, and only the first 7 can be stolen from - cards are almost universally placed in slot 8. Red and Black mushrooms are notable in this regard - the Poison Spore they drop at 50% is in slot 8, and hence can't be stolen

non-aggro, non-cast-sensor monsters which drop good loot? And can be stolen from with anything approaching decent rates? Pretty sure these don't exist.

I've read that a tiny bunch of cards can be stolen, like the Hode Card for example, because they're put into the 7th slot.
But that might just be a rumor.

Hmm i remember on iro database some monsters had 9 items to drop, thus having the 9th slot. But it couldve been unreleased or incorrect info too.

It's incorrect.

It was common in the past - when an update added a new drop to a monster that already dropped 8 items, and the DB site owner didn't know what drop the new on replaced, they'd just add the new drop to the list, and not remove the old one.
