First time iRO Ragnarok experience.

Hello everyone, i currently started playing RO again after many years. Im familiar with "Renewal" and up to do somewhat with illusion dungeons and some up to date content. I played other high rates server to become familiarized with all the new classes so that now i know what class to start with at least.

 

I recently started with Non VIP atm and playing the archer class. Currently around level 40 and have farmed up about 1m mostly from stems and other easily sellable stuff. I have already started m eden quest and things are going somewhat smooth so far. Now my plan is to build ASPD/Crit Ranger as i feel like that will help me farm better than arrowstorm "Especially MVP's". Now, the issue im having is the market prices for items are VERY high. And i have no actualy "goal" other than to just level up. The server is currently gonna be down to a couple hours, so i wanted to use this time to get some more info on what to do with my current state. I had initually though of just saving up enough zeny and rush for "Morgan's Set" as my first items to crit ranger,but i feel like i might be a little outdated and maybe there is something i should know before pursing this goal.

 

Im asking as i feel a little too lost while playing Ro again. Back then there were much simpler build now ive notice there is a plethora and i really appreciate that but atm has be a little lost. Hope someone can clear things up for me a little and point in the right direction as i really want to get up to date with episodes.

 

I myself am pursuing a Perfect Dodge build on my ranger for a certain instance, utilizing arrow storm for leveling.
3 core equipment i use for leveling are

1. Autumn Headband (22m) - Insta Cast Arrow Storm and SP leech chance at +0 refine
2. Black Wing Suit (Mora Equip) - Gives a bit of perfect dodge based on refine when paired with GWB

3. Gray Wing Boots (100m) - Combos with BWS that gives increased movement speed and 500 HP per kill (bye bye potions)

honestly you should mainly focus on your leveling skills/builds(arrow storm) before building into a dedicated single target setup(crit/warg). You will have a painfully slow leveling if you go single target from the start, as your mob killing capabilities will be vastly inferior. Besides, with a little skill and etc, you can kite around mvps and start to dabble at MVPing with even AS. Not just leveling, your farming speed as a whole will be much slower because you just dont kill monsters at the same rate doing it 1 by 1 rather than in large packs.

If you are continuing with the ranger, a good starting set of gear is the White Wing set, gives a decent ranged bonus and a big Arrow Storm bonus, Hunter bow(npc shop) + hunting arrows is super efficient for just how ridiculously cheap it is, and the Autumn Headband hat will provide a big QoL boost to the build as it offers a bit of sp leech(sustain) and completely erases Arrow Storm cast time.
Upgrade the gear as you need, dont worry too much about fancy stuff while you dont need it.

Hello Rakki, and thanks for the reply. AS IM CURRENTY only level 40, i cant really use thos items atm. But are you suggesting AS over Crit build for rangers as a begginer player?

Ever since Autumn Headband was made available (still have extras) that's a yes, of course the equipment I mentioned earlier is for when you become a Ranger. Also a tip, you can exchange 40 or 60 Monster Tokens(they seem to take 40 for me) which is currently dropping for a X3 Exp Buff at the Kafra HQ in Aldebaran which should speed up leveling a bit

Although certainly not the best, eden gear should be enough for your leveling pre 3rd class. Dont worry too much about the gear you wear at that early stage, unless its something generic and cheap that you can make use as a ranger as well. Hunter bow+hunting arrow you can use since your 2nd job, and should already be a pretty noticeable damage boost over npc/eden geat

Thanks Ashuckel, i will keep that advise in mind. once i become ranger i will pursue wing set and AS. Wasnt sure if that was my best option but i had it considered! 

Is there a minstrel equivalent of the Autumn headband, and white wing suit to help with SR? Thank you in advance.

I doubt we have set armor for SR but you can use True Trentini card.

Getting the AHB, white wing set and a hunter bow will be enough to take you to 126, usually mobs will die by hit kill from your AS, you might need some straws or blue potions occasionaly, but that is pretty much it, you probably wont be able to hit kill mobs on high t.i, but using fire conversor you can head to scarabas, I guess at some point you will consider buying a elven bow, after level 130 or 140 you can do some instances like OGH and early levels of endless tower, save your eden merit badges to exchange for magical stones, do malangdo dailies to farm some white wing suits to sell or, take advantage from token hammer event and use your tokens to try a +7 white wing suit, you could use it or sell it, plus 7 should not be that hard to achieve and adds a good value to the gear.
Just like our good veteran said above, don't go tor crit/warg early on, you can consider doing it after saving some money, also, after playing for a while, if you see that you will be staying on iRO, you can buy that 1500 wp to put VIP, it is up to you spend real money on the game or not, I feel like the VIP could be better, but that is another topic to discuss.
