Didn't feel like making a separate topic for this, but since getting all of my colo gear, I decided to make my colo vids (of what I did take) public.
Big disclaimer, these videos are more for people who don't know where to start doing colo as a monk. There are many ways about it, but the videos show how I do it. I am by no means the authority on this. I just want to share what I've seen and done.
The way I do colo isn't fancy, but it's how I do things. No Kafra items. No prebuffs (unless I just came from an RHD and forgot to remove it). No premades, EVER (are you seriously that bad that you need your mob?).
As a tank, our strength isn't that great in PvP, so I thought why not play up our strength in colo? That is, PvE. Lame? Okay, fine, but if you do it right, it's just as effective. The problem then lies in the other people trying to last hit the monster you're targeting. It's all about timing and knowing when you let off the next attack, stopping if you have to. If you're comfortable with PvP in colo, by all means go for it.
Now when you get to the finals, it's really just luck on who you face. Can't do anything about it. However, even in the hardest situations (5 range vs 1 monk), there's still an opportunity to learn how to handle tough situations.
Here's the link below for those curious.
