It's been a few weeks sense the Noel race was released so I'm sure a lot of people have enough experience with them. I personally have recently gotten my Soulmaker up to level 50. My opinion of the Soulmaker has changed a lot sense I first changed into it. As such I feel a lot of people have formed an good enough opinion of these new classes as well and I'd like to hear them. Not just the Soulmaker either. I'd like to hear people's opinion on the Crecentia as well. What do you guys think of the Noel classes?

P.S: I have a lot of things to say about the Soulmaker but if I did post about it, this whole thing would turn into one big rant. Long story short, the Soulmaker class is underwhelming imo.

I actually found my SoulMaker to be what I wanted it to be. A support class that still has a decent amount of attack skills. Of course part of this was due to the fact that my 1st character was a FS Priest...and I got tired of leveling it, so he's at 40 atm. My SoulMaker is just about 45 (curse you server crash!), but I like the fact that I can put on a variety of buffs to help out my party/raid, and still have a good amount of AoEs/attack skills. That's just me though. The only real thing I can really fault the SM on is it's heals...which IMO aren't too useful...but I didn't expect them to be a Priest replacement.

Only level 20 at the moment but I really enjoy my Alter, soloing mini bosses in quest lines has become a since due to DoTs + Diem.

Going into a pvp/dps oriented Soul Maker, and I feel like they can do some really nice damage, and still have some support like abilities that greatly help them and their party.

I'm mostly excited to try SM in a WoE environment, but that'll be a ways away.

I also find their HP pool to be rather nice, I'm unsure if its the hp pool or their innate defense, but I can usually snag three mobs at a time and wipe them out.

Just curious, why do you find them underwhelming? What skill build are you using?

I cannot say much since im currently on lvl6, my original plan was aco but changed my mind when I saw the soul maker kills. They are small and cute but I dunno if they can be also good with soloing and pvp.

I find Cresentias to be kinda gimmicky. They're like a mix of priest DoTs and monks stats but squishier. The way I've been playing them is to maximize DPS to kill things fast from afar before they get to me, like any range class I guess, then finish them off with melee attacks.

They do have debuffs, but they feel a little lacking. It feels like the debuffs could do a bit more than just "damage up/down". Levicorpus (while I don't have it), sounds like a decent idea but could be beefed up for PvE regarding duration while keeping the 10s effect in PvP. I'm not sure about the other debuffs. At the end of the day though, I don't mind keeping the damage tree, but I would have like to see them focus some more on debuffs since all the DoTs are more or less the same.

I'm enjoying my SM so far. I enjoy the AoE mechanic quite a bit, so I've been having fun pulling groups to me.. and the super rainbow burst of doom/healing is super awesome. The healing is pretty disappointing so far, though. I was hoping to go support/heal hybrid.. but I'm really questioning that now. The HoT works well enough, but if I accidentally pull too many mobs, I feel like I really struggle to get myself back up on health. Dat cast time/CD. :p_swt:

The SM wasn't actually built to be a main healer. It was built to support heal. To help another healer. It's heals just aren't good enough on it's own to really main heal when it comes down to it. The SM also doesn't have an emergency heal like Sanctuaty/Deluge so that further solidifies the argument that SMs were never meant to main heal. You could probably do it during normal dungeons but once you reach RHD, this just becomes increasingly clear.

Yeah, I'm not looking to main heal at all. I wanted to be similar to how I play my sorc - if there's a priest, I only heal if they go down (besides tossing up LoR on ranged, so probably HoT on SM), but still able to partner up with a friend and down things. At least on sorc, maxed earth seal and healing wave 1 could get me out of trouble.. but now I'm doubting leveling restoration at all. I feel like I might be better off leveling some damage skills to kill things quicker, than to try to heal better and drag fights out longer.

..I think I'll just wait to level skills until I hit 50. See practically what I end up doing more.

Restoration's heal is far to weak to be of significant use at max level imo. At level one you can still get crits for your links and put the rest of the points into something more useful.

I´m enjoying my Soulmaker a lot but she eats blue pots like it´s cheap candy, I just wish their attack + support skills would eat up less MP. Cure Pearl also seems useless to me as long as it can also heal the enemy,

I love my Soul Maker to pieces.  But, if you go like much of the game does, you are solo'ing things.  It kind of takes away from soul linking if you barely use it.  It got so bad that I just switched from being support to hybriding myself.  Sadly enough, this means I'm doing things waaaay after I should.  I took Vador down all on my own, but several levels after I got the Kahra to do it.  All the dungeons after Wolves' Cave I've skipped.  And there are things I don't dare attempt without pots, my skills at the ready, and my Screw Fin -_-tail alcoholism in affect.

Parties don't last more than a few seconds, as most people I've run into get the buffs, then disappear.  That also means I'm also struggling to get things I need.  I'm still rocking a level 33 Blue hat nearing level 50.   (Oh dear lords of ecchi loli, why are their no decent blue/purple hats in the AH?  Under 5kz?)

But for all it's bad parts, I still love playing torture dolly with enemies.   If I make it to level 50 in the next day or so, I'll be satisfied.  Of course, until I have to struggle along to get that Aione costume I was so denied in the union box event.  2 union points at a time.

There are many issues I have with the soulmakers as a whole (I main one). It's an extremely fun class, but it's also tricky to play well.

Firstly, all of the abilities aside from the DPS tree are underwhelming and feel as if the GMs made a last minute decision to weaken the class as a whole.

Our Soulmate Awakening is far too short with too large of a cooldown in between. (I'll call it unfair because Assassins have an equally powerful form with no cooldown and a permanent state)

Our links are too short and must be targetted exactly like the Priests ME (Which is sloppy design considering the links could just reach out or just be a buff without any sort of direction)

For a group buffing class, our best buffs are single targetted, (the "best" of which is broken.)

Our (arguably) best technique comes out of our HP, a whopping 10% at that.

Our second best (once again arguably) can only be used in a 2 minute span every 10 minutes and is easily able to lag out entire raids. Oh did I mention I can only use it for 2 minutes in a 10 minute time frame? If I did, I'll mention it again, 2 minutes total then we must wait for the long cooldown before we can go into our awaken form again and use it again.

Cure pearls are garbage for anything other than placing bubbles for cheap laughs.

Everyone wants our links, but no one wants to be within range of them. (I'll chalk that up to ignorance of how the links actually work, regardless, the links need a wider range and need to be able to link more than 5 people, seriously we're in 10+man raids, why would I only be able to link 5 people?)

Mental Breakdown and Soul Extortion are both pretty much identical with one costing significantly more SP and allowing you to move and shoot.

Soul extinction has a casting time -_- and it's our ONLY DoT.

Soul Injection debuff is solid. I love that thing.

Soul Link devotion is broken in every sense of the word. Also I don't know what they expect us to do with it. Considering how strong bosses are, there's no way it can be used efficiently. Sure it prevents death ONCE, but after that the target will just be wiped when Maya P or something uses another AoE, which she frequents.

Over all, there's alot of reasons why this class is extremely underpowered and needs some rebalancing, fixing, tweaking, what have you... HOWEVER!

I love this class, it's probably my favorite out of any in the game. Plus, who doesn't want to run around with horns and a tail being all cute n cuddly, right? =]

Thank you for posting pretty much all my problems with the class. The only thing you missed was the STUPID 2 second cast time of Soul Extinction and Restore. That's some BULL!

I can't say anything about Crescentia because I haven't played as one yet. I apologize.

I had no problem whatsoever soloing my Soulmaker to level 50 in about a week, using very few pots, and only recovery food when I was an Alter. I could pull and kill 3 mobs for my quests, and from level 1 to 50 the only non-dungeon death I experienced was when a stupid 4th leaf cat decided to walk into the range of death spell.

I love my Soulmaker to bits and made him my main character (used to be hybrid priest). The only thing I dislike about the class itself is how much sp the healing skills require (25 to 28 sp each). It wasn't much of a problem when I was doing quests to get to level 50, but in raids? I support heal a lot, and consequently run out of sp very quickly. Their healing is also underwhelming, I will not deny it, but I'm not bothered by it much because their best role is supporting (through links and their party buffs), not healing.

Cure pearl is worthless. They seem to have fixed it healing monsters, but I left mine at level 1 anyways because one small heal every 30 seconds is dumb.

I left Balance at level one since I favor buffing several people over only one person. (Plus you already give +10% attack/magic attack from imposito manus, and an extra 10% damage for critical hits from transpersonal!) I dropped Devotion entirely since it's currently broken, and honestly I doubt its uses.

You can actually link the entire raid if they're in the range of your circle when you cast it! It's not limited to 5 party members. Unfortunately in raids people move around a lot so I usually only end up linking all the ranged dps/priests, at least the ones that stick together. Especially in hard raids-- half of pve H I end up only linking one or two people, or the tanks depending on the boss. I don't see this as a fault of the skill, though, that's just how raids are. Although I think it would be more convenient if the skill automatically linked everyone within 20 meters of you.

Awake actually lasts 3 minutes, not 2. I find it's a shame that it has such a large cooldown and short duration, but I'm okay with it, mostly.

Immunity is nice, it allows me to heal the tanks and melee dps with it while doing somewhat decent damage, and also helps with taking care of adds. Its sparkly rainbow effect on impact is also pretty cute, but it makes my game freeze up for half a second. Other people have also asked me to not use it because it makes their game freeze up, too. ("Your computer/graphics card sucks." Yeah yeah I'm using an ordinary laptop for gaming, I didn't expect anything different.)

Appearance-wise I adore Noels. I'm incredibly fond of princely clothes and frilly dresses. I love small, cute things. And I have a huge fascination for angels and especially demons. If Noels weren't limited to only Alter/Crescentia/Soulmaker I would make/remake all my characters into Noels in a heartbeat.

I don't want to use the term "lolicon/shotacon" for this. I love the way they look but it's not like I'm attracted to little boys/girls in an impure way. I guess this is an entirely different topic, though...

If devotion weren't bugged I'd use it in a heartbeat. I may be wrong about it's use but sense the buff is basically a revive buff applied to you and everyone else within 10 meters I could definately see it's usefulness. It also helps that the buff can be reapplied every 3 seconds so unlike other rez, this one is spammable. Once again, I could be wrong about it's use.

Also, I think we all that that little loli/Shota in us. Ah that forbidden fruit.

I originally had Devotion at level 1 thinking about the "free res" (which is more of a "you recover hp instead of dying" thing), before I learned it was bugged. You can only link 1 person and after you use it on someone, they get a debuff where they can't be linked with Devotion again for... I think it was 3 minutes? So even if it was working properly you can't spam Devotion on someone to keep them from dying.

(my opinion)

I dunno why people keep saying that SM heals are weak. It this a SEA stereotype?

Our SM is enjoying healing (with 1 priest) and says that the heals are OP. SM as a main aoe healer seems very good when the priest is paying more attention to the tanks.

Here's a video fo 9-manning Ramort Hard legit with priest+SM as healers http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded

If you run out of sp, you can always use blue/purple potions.
