That is alot more time consuming than you think

 

I said I'd bet the answer would be no.

 

Yea I'd figure, because of the evidences that they have to obtain first for each botter to avoid any trouble. But can't there be a small team dedicated to that? It could even be a one-man team... or even a volunteer player (I bet a lot of players here in the forums would be willing). Volunteers can do all the dirty work of investigating each botter, and then GMs/CMs can just smash their banhammers... right?

 

Nothing stopping players from doing that now

 

That's why it would take "less" time, & not be "more time consuming", if the bots were dealt with the same way, as tickets repoting them ;)

Thorn trap skill been disabled in maps that has no MvPs. Example: the skill is disabled on lhz_dun01 where no MvP is around, its enabled on lhz_dun02 and lhz_dun03 where MvPs spawn. Then its disabled on lhz_dun04 which has no MvPs. This need to be looked into imo, I'd assume things been swapped around.

 

We may be able to modify that this week to allow on non-mvp maps.

other than the fact that alot of the time no matter how much evidence you give them the SAME bots will still be there for the next 3 months... i swear sometimes they hire the people who read the tickets from Walmart... unless you tell camp or oda about a specific ticket number so they can go tattoo it on the GMs foreheads it seems like they just dont do anything... and Camp and Oda shouldnt have to take that much time outta there days harassing the GMs to do their jobs...

 

You gotta love their generic replies. "We'll look into it".

Hopefully I'm not too late to ask this.

 

Are you all ever going to disable BB's in OD? Someone let Tao loose in there earlier. Had some fun killing it though :)

 

The issue is that that would mean disabling BBs in ALL dungeons, since we can only disable items by map type.

has the summoner been fixed or will it be fixed... last i heard it was just stealing peoples stones and not letting them enter... i want to use it but dont want to risk losing my stone...

 

There have been a report or two recently, we'll check it out but the bulk of the reports were from last month and seem to be working after we refunded the badges and reset the characters back then.

Why is Xellie unable to see this section?

what happened to the novice grounds revamp project for classic?

Any chance of considering character copy/transfer from re to classic?

edit: extra annoying question from Xellie - what is going to be done about the illegal items on Classic? Duped/RMTed/ w/e they are? Are you on top of it?

Hmm I don't think that would be a bad idea. I don't think people the pop BB's, to actually kill them, would be using them in any of the dungeons.

if you disable BBs in dungeons, where could you use BBs?  They're already disabled on virtually every field.  I think maybe entrance to sphinx is BB-able.  Imagine the QQ if there were only 2 maps or so in the entire game you could use BBs on.  People would just be camping those maps waiting for some poor sap to BB so they could ninja their MVP.

There are more maps they can be used on than they can't. They've only been disabled on a couple of maps. They can be used in the Sunken Ship for example.

 

There is no need for a special instance for BB's.

BB are only useable in dungeons Louyang field, right outside the sphinx dungeon and right outside the pyramid dungeon (prolly from the way these maps are designated)... every other map they are disabled on

I can't think of a valid reason then to have them disabled on so many other maps. I can see why they were disabled in Prontera due to all the abuse. I can also see them being disabled on the beginner Eden Quests like the first maps outside of Payon, Morroc, etc...

you mentioned that you can BB ok in sunken ship and you're fine with that

since sunken ship is a dungeon, you would no longer be able to BB there if BBs were disabled in dungeon type maps

 

ergo, you should care, at least a little, as it appears this is an issue you are concerned about.

Do GMs/CMs spare some time to patrol maps that have been reported to house a handful of bots? I know that simply reporting a single bot requires a support ticket; but when someone in the forums mention about a bot-infested map and a lot seem to agree or if that someone sounds credible enough, do GMs/CMs actually go to that map just to have a quick check?

 

I mean... there's a group of SinX's in yuno_fild11 that have the same headgear and are obviously bots, but I'm not sure if anyone cares. :o

 

From what I understand because they are servicing tickets from around all of our games they don't have much time to be doing map patrols. Tickets, especially when reporting one of a large bot ring will lead to that whole ring being taken down. If you have sent in a ticket and the bots haven't been removed that is something where you should PM Warnhal with the ticket number.

 

Thanks for the answer. When I get the chance, I'll try to report a bot ring when I see one. ;) I only reported one bot from that field and another bot (Swordie~HP duo) from pay_fild08 and I'm not even sure if they're still there (but the reply to the support ticket was that they'll be added to the watchlist).

Is this supposed to make sense? I only mentioned & requested they be disabled in OD for obvious reasons. Other dungeons are irrelevant to what I said & the reason for it. I'm sure you're well aware of that no matter how much you want to try to pick at every post of mine.

 

Edit: What dungeons do you use for BB's?
