Ideally I would like to see a mesh between the old and the new....
1. Lower the weight a little bit and increase the heal amount of BG whites. However, make sure that Ranked Slim Potions still weight 1 less then BG and heal for slightly more. This will give advantages to those willing to pot.
2. Have PVM activities that require party play that can supply a guild via bg rewards. I think Xellie is hinting at putting more thought into this and I would like to know her ideas.
3. Get rid of Flav BG and put TG back with Flav reward number of badges. Flav BG is farm dependent and TG naturally causes pvp.
4. Keep bombs/edp/ygg seeds out of bg. These items need to require some team effort to make.
5. I would keep BG rewards account bound. Maybe make medals vendable though. This could be "easy zeny" for newer players and there are plenty of people willing to buy medals.
6. Players from "other" servers are use to supplying through BG. If they want to play here then this would at least be a decent way to welcome them. Don't have enough supplies from guild? Do more BG or pot fish.
None of this matters though if guild cap/alliance cap is still high enough to hold 224 players in a single alliance. I honestly don't see too much hope of another extended period of time with decent comp on the server. There will always be guilds and stuff, but most of the old school players (who carry the server in many ways) will be gone once 1 of the 2 major guilds left quits. No comp = no reason to log in.
I suggested all of this over a year ago. As far as I know the GM's don't have the ability to do any of it.
If I was the one in charge and had the power to do so it would be:
1. 3 castles open per realm, all unique castle loot from the 2 disabled castles go to the hardest castle to defend in each realm. Make god item drop rates stuck at 1x rates, not increased by anything (events, gum, etc.).
2. No alliances, obviously. Yeah you can still work with other guilds but disabling alliances would discourage it a lot.
3. Lower guild cap dramatically. Has to be done by lowering extension I think? Base guild has 16, lower extension to 1 per lvl = 26 cap. A guild cap of 26 is much more realistic to obtain on a consistent basis for multiple guilds, WoE would be less about who can get 5+ more people on that given day. I could see a lot of competition created with a guild cap of 26. As of now the barrier to entry WoE on a competitive level is almost impossible for any new or returning guild since they would need about 40 people. (not including severe item disadvantage)

- Lower the castle numbers. We don't need so many due to how many guilds we have currently. It's pretty much no competition or fun due to this.
- Take out the ability to have Alliances.
- Lower the Guild Cap. Doing this will have more guilds at one given time, more fun!
- Cheating needs to be looked seriously into, it ruins the game. Bannable offense! Seriously.

-Make all woe supplies available from battlegrounds.
List goes on and on by more people as well. These are all different people and multiple guild leaders. There are overlapping themes, of course. If so many people with "influence" over the server share things in common, even well fighting on opposite sides, then there must be a reason why.
If nothing can be done by GM's to help the GL/regular players posting here, I think they would like to know that from the Staff. If things are possible but they need xyz to do it then that would be appreciated. AKA people just want to know if its worth it to continue to play here or if its worth it to come back to play here. There is a reason the server population is so low... lets fix it.
The truth is, if nothing happens then after one of the last 2 guilds quit (comp) then the server will just turn into farm land. Neither guild will last for long with out competition and at the moment there is no healthy competition on the server. The server will just be free farm for whomever until the server is deleted or merged with renewal.
It is very simple
Nothing changes: Player population will continue to drop with no target market to obtain new members for Classic. We have already exhuased the old player pop, steam, ect ect
Something drastic changes: *Unknown*. We might lose some people or we might gain a lot of people from other servers. This would depend entirely on what the changes are.
