  • It is now possible to hide the hidden slot enchant area (it also gets remembered with your save cookie).
  • A small number of skills are implemented for the testing of my new skill system code engine, and the ones I added should be working: Owl's Eye, Trap Research, Improve Concentration, Improve Dodge, Faith, Voice lessons, and full throttle. A few other passive skills may show up.

Hi Jaye,

 

I heard that the slaughter effect of Glorious weapons have been changed. Do you know if the new damage formula will be added to your calculator?

I will probably give items a similar script to skills in the db. So slaughter would just be

"dmg_mul;demi-human;95
refine_effect;7;dmg_mul;demi-human;15
refine_effect;8;dmg_mul;demi-human;5_for_every_refine_above_7"

Something like that.

  • Increase AGI and Blessing are in.
  • Added code for "special" menus on skills. So Instead of selecting just the level it can have a custom set of options in the drop down.
  • Added Falcon Eyes, Hilt Binding, Rising Dragon, Fury, Flee, Frigg's Song, Adrenaline Rush, Advanced Adrenaline Rush, and Swing Dance.
  • Added new code that lets the calc detect if you're qualified to have a party skill based on your equippped weapon (e.g. Adrenaline Rush requires an axe/mace).

Does anyone have a specific active/buff/self skill they want to see implemented ASAP so that they can test the accuracy of their values on the calc (aspd/hit/stats/crit/etc)?

 

Current to-do list: 2 hand quicken, spear quicken

If you have a script parser then that's the best way to implement some items effects.

Is there going to be a Save URL feature? It's really helpful for me since whenever my cookies get wiped or something all my save data gets deleted.

Actually don't know how to do it, so I'll have to learn how. Which is not something rare at all while I work on this sort of thing. It just means its probably not on top of my to-do list.

I actually didn't know how to do the cookie thing until I did it either.

What I need for save url is a way to make the string way shorter and some kind of ciphered so people won't manipulate data too easily (causing bugs and unrecoverable problems with their sheet probably)

I put together a URL save system, let me know if you find any bugs/issues with it.

 

I ended up constructing a compact, non-associative array, then using gzdeflate() on it and then base64_encode() to make it an alphanumeric short (comparatively) string instead of a long series of variables.

I had to re-number the variables for the compact array in the url encoding process...

 

so existing save URLs are bad!~

 

Save a new one after fixing your character.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, or just something you haven't gotten to yet, but I've noticed some cosmetic problems with Chrome.

 

First, the hidden enchantment section is a bit off.  It looks like the columns for the enchants or just a smidgen wider than the container they're in, and it's causing a wrapping effect.

Also the stat drop downs work the same in firefox for both new and old calcs, but they've changed for chrome.

 

Firefox old:

Double click on a stat dropdown (first to pull down the drop down list, second to "hide" the drop down list but still have it in focus)

Use Up/Down arrows to change stats

Final stat isn't "set" until you hit enter, or click out of the drop down box.  (by "set" i mean the points available updates, and the sub-stats recalculate)

Firefox new:

Same as above, as expected

 

Chrome old:

After one stat point change (ie. 3->4), the stat is "set" and the drop down list loses focus so you have to reclick it to change it again

 

I have no idea what causes either problem, or how easy it is to fix.  Both are purely cosmetic and probably aren't important, but I wanted to let you know.

 

I love this new calc.  I was wondering if the old calc was ever going to be updated with all the recent updates.  I love that it'll tie into the database too, that should make it easier to get new gear into the calc since it all comes from one source of truth.  Your new calc is coming along nicely, make sure you don't burn yourself out trying to rush it!  :thumb2:
