schia, That's IF the players would buy them. It would ultimately depend on how much WP would charge for the leads, how much people would be willing to spend on something that's only effect can be obtained in the game for free (without even having to unequip/dismount in order to attack and use skills.) I highly doubt that many people (probably less than the current number of people renting) would buy more than 1 if they were character bound, depending on the cost. They could use that money towards something better, like boxes to get BMx3s, gums and head gears.

it sounds like you completely ignored what i said.  Its ok, i'm use to it by now.

Actually, I didn't. You quoted my response to you. If I had ignored you, I just wouldn't have said anything at all.

In order to counter what you said, I'd have to compare the number of players that are currently buying rental halters to the number of people that would buy them, and also calculate the amount made through both. Then I'd have to guess the amount made in a player's "expected RO life time" (as you put it) and how many people we would gain in the future, crunch all those numbers, and make a statistical response according to those results after guessing how much WP would sell the permanent halters for. Problem is, I'm not a mathematician. I'm not Inubashiri or some other person who has the ability to make a program and/or graph to display this kind of data, even if those numbers were available.

What I can say is what I've already said. I used to play a game that had a "horse training system." These "rides" started out being available in-game only, they had life spans of a few months, and the horses gave stats to the riders. Once "hatched", these horses had to be trained (they started with only 1's in the stats, but as they're trained, the stats the rider gains raise as they level.) The speed in which a horse leveled depended on how high the level of the person has in the skill in training them. People made a decent amount of in-game money by training them. However, the company that created the game came out with account-bound horses that came with no life span, and didn't need training. Not only did this effectively kill the horse training system, it also was one of the main reasons why that company had to sell the rights to run the game to another company... because they lost money due to imbalance of cash shop items that disrupted the game. But that's beside the point.

You can say I took the high road with my response, or whatever, but I didn't ignore you.

I rent halter every month on a regular. It's part of my VIP subscription. I don't really care cause I get the VIP package when I renew. I play ranger.

I don't see anything crazy in that. I sorta kinda need it. Or I would rather use it than spend my skill points on warg ride.

why not? As soon as i got AS max, then i got Warg Ride and now Warg bite.

AS Rangers get more skill points to use then it has skills to use it on.

all the halter leads i have are event rewards i got for free. i would not buy them as rentals. mostly because i have so many characters that it wouldn't be worth it to only use it for essentially just a few days each month. if it was permanent though, i would definitely get a few.

Selling permanent mounts is only viable if the developer was constantly coming out with new mounts to sell. The lack of a steady stream of new mounts simply implores them to sell them as rentals, not one-time payments.

I'm job 60 and I need more skill points. Also I already stated what I use it for. Warg ride is pretty much a waste of skill points for me.

RO2 had a steady stream of new mounts, at least back when I was playing it if I recall correctly, they were all rental/temporary.

Perma-mounts would be a nice thing, as a customer, but I don't see it happening with the way Gravity/kRO runs the ship.

RO2's developers don't churn out enough mounts to sell them permanent. They did sell permanent costumes directly in the Kafra Shop instead of a lucky box and they're coming out with a lot more costumes than mounts so selling permanent costumes is a bit more viable for them.
