Horror and sci-fi pulp fiction and radio plays now regularly scheduled in the iRO Community RaidCall Multimedia Room iRO Community Discord General Channel Skype (PM me for a link).

Currently scheduled for every other Friday.

Run time varies, but I'm trying to keep it between half an hour and an hour and a half. Longer stories will be serialized.

Notice:
Until further notice, the current schedule will continue as normal; however, I will no longer be regularly updating the upcoming stories here.

Upcoming readings...

Just wondering, would anyone be interested in some heavier, non-fiction material after this wraps up?

I've been meaning to get around to reading Edward Gibbon's The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. After finishing the unabridged version of James Frazer's The Golden Bough, nothing seems particularly daunting. I really enjoy enlightenment era stuff, so I wouldn't mind re-reading Voltaire, Rene Descartes, John Locke, et cetera. Although, I'll read pretty much anything, so I should have put more emphasis on the "whatever".

Edit: egregious typographical error heretofore unnoticed. :heh:

Special thanks to Zero Tigress for picking up the slack when I bungled the show yesterday.

Next show will be Friday, August 28, 2015 from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm (Central Time, GMT -6:00).

The Dunwich Horror, by H. P. Lovecraft, narrated by Caden Clegg.

It was a fun read, especially my butchered French accent. :U Technical difficulties are bound to happen.

I found my stereophonic microphone; I'll get it setup as a contengency so no one else has to be put on the spot in the future.

All in all, even with the occasional stumble, your cadence was much smoother than the original narrator. If you like butchering accents, you could try H.P. Lovecraft's The Picture in the House. There is extensive dialog in what is, as far as I know, the only known documented example of a turn-of-the-century rural New England accent.

Extended vacation for everyone! :no1:

My motherboard went out today, so I'll be out of pocket indefinitly. I think Zero Tigress will still be taking over for Psycho at the least.

No problem, Richie. :3 If you'd like me to substitute for any other week, let me know. Otherwise, you could put your show on hold until your technical difficulties smooth out.

Just finish Psycho if anyone cares to--that was the last thing I had on a definite time table. Anything additional would be at your option. Thanks again.

Would it be allright if I broadcast this Friday's show a little earlier (7PM PDT)?

If you like. I'll change it in the OP.

Edit:

UPS supposed to have my parts in today, so there's a slim chance I may be able to attend.

Edit 2:

We'll discuss changing up the schedule soon. I don't want anyone getting burned out on this.

I've also been looking at some light RPG systems that use simple d6 or diceless mechanics that could be played in-game or over the RaidCall. When I get my materials together, we can do a dry run and see if any are viable for use in community events.

Edit 3:

Canibalizing parts, moving files, downloading OS.... *shakes & cold sweats*

For those interested, the OP has been extensively revised. Some specific stories have dates and times that are still to be determined, but it reflects what is to be a complete schedule for 2016. Regardless, I'd like to keep a good selection of material on hand, so I'm open to suggestions and submissions.

For posterity, on December 25th, there was an impromptu reading of The Festival, by H. P. Lovecraft, as well as selected Christmas poems from his correspondence that was published posthumously.

I did forget to post a reminder about the previous reading; That Hell-bound Train was read on schedule.

Finally, a reminder for tomorrow's reading, we'll have H. P. Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu, narrated by Andrew Leman from 9:30 pm to 10:50 pm (US Central, GMT -6:00).

OP has been updated with a definitive schedule for our upcoming readings through October 9, 2016. Still, I'd like to keep a good selection of material on hand, so I'm open to suggestions and submissions.

Having experienced no issues while testing audio streams in the iRO Community Discord, I've committed to hosting future Friday shows there. So long as the iRO Community RaidCall remains open, I will still use it as an auxiliary platform in the eventuality of technical anomalies.

I've added more material to the "upcoming readings" in the OP. Looks like this coming year we'll be pivoting from horror and get into more sword and sorcery stuff.

Also, I've hidden the pre-show reminder notifications that were cluttering this thread. I'll try staying on top of that from here on.
