pair your CL with Empowered staff Spell 2,3,4 .  That'd be fun to test its DPS versus that theory.  Not sure of the outcome.

Meteor Storm lv10, with Empowered Crimson set, Salamander card and 1 alchemy glove results in 10412.5% IF ALL METEORS CONNECT, 2/3 of that CL setup i mentioned. If the monster element makes it receive 150% from fire, damage should equal to CL. Higher elemental weakness to fire make meteor stronger. Also the constatation that it can be prepared plays a huge factor

Maybe one day we receive the class specific shadow sets, 20% MS/LoV/SG damage sounds nice :v

Edit:  for the sake of the original argument nvm.  But CL does decreasing damage.  If it's 1000% 1st hit, 900% 2nd etc, then total base CL lightning would be 3400%...

One may argue that Tetra is good versus a frozen target, but only the first 2 hits (or 3? bug?) are counted for the element mod.  I notice this especially on wandering purple dragon. Plus the skill isn't "Spammable" in a sense when compared to chain lightning.

Depends on your ASPD. The higher the ASPD, the lower the number of hits that calculate the damage as if the enemy is frozen. One more thing: all 4 hits of tetra vortex are counted as amplified, so I'll only ditch TV when I get out of Geffen with a Fenrir Card.

 

TV outdamages CL by a large margin if amped, but it doesn't outDPS it in higher levels. It's too much of a hassle to cast. The damage doesn't pay for the preparation needed. It's a PVP oriented skill, and in PVP burst is very important. Not so worth getting for PVM. It can help open some MVP fights in solo scenarios, and is overall better against fire and wind MVPs (which are few), but that's about it.

Sorry, I edited to complement. But yes, I'm not kidding. Before building AGI, I could hit 4 times a frozen target with wind element, when I started building it, the number of times decreased to 3, then 3 (no Berserk Potion) or 2 (with Berserk Potion), now it's always 2. I'm afraid there'll be a time when only the first hit will consider the target frozen...

BTW, Ash, are you sure skills scale with level up to 175? According to iRO Wiki this scaling go only up to 150. Maybe it's outdated... again...?

As i said before, i already ditch TV because from a PVM standpoint i dont see that much of a need for that, anyway if you are single targeting most of the time SE or CL will outdps TV, and the rest elements are covered by the other elemental spells (at least from my experience) you have a rough time with shadow monsters tho, but is the same with TV anyway.

I died once because I was too slow at interrupting fire form's EQ, and I didn't kill fast enough to get good garments (under 5 minutes). Would have been smoother with GTB, but I chose not to use it.

Though my internet sucks. I contacted my ISP and they said the best they could do is give me a discount, because "they're having maintenance in the area and don't know when it will end, could be next week or next month or worse".

 

 

PS: Check out the Tetra Vortex WoE Build for me please. I need to know how fiber lock interacts with Tetra Vortex and can't test myself.
