First of all i am not an expert but i have experience GX and based on my experience:

 

1.)  Rolling cutter is a Mob killer skill but can't even mob greatly because of Mob flee penalty effect.

 

2.)  Ok, so you can't mob with RC then use Weapon Blocking skill to increase defense when mobbing...[WRONG!!!]...Weapon blocking is so retarded that when used you can't move at all for a few seconds and only 20% chance at 5th level.

 

3.)  Oh man i am poor i can't afford expensive items...oh i know! ill use Poisonous weapon and craft New poisons with new poison research skill to increase my damage!...[WRONG AGAIN!!!]  Poisonous weapon doesn't even do anything as far as i experienced it all it does, no i am wrong, it doesn't do anything...it doesn't even make your weapon poison type when used...why is  it  even called poisonous weapon????really???

 

4.)  Ok so you say you can't move with Weapon blocking and activated, then why don't you use Dark illusion skill so you can reach those long range mobs?......[WRONG AGAIN!!!!]  When you use Dark illusion skill there is another downside on it, you can't use skills for a few seconds when dark illusion is used coz of delayed cast effect.

 

 

ENOUGH SAID, GX is retarded...specially Rolling cutter PFFFT but anyway Good luck on poor people who started as an assassin class (LIke me) All i can farm with my GX is Arc angeling and have to be buffed with "Enchant deadly poison" before being able to kill it....

Flee is covered by leech item like vana,rideword,thanatos weap,blood sucker,succubus pet

 

weapon block+counter slash is none optimal build

 

all class need funding don't expect to do stuff funded people can do

 

just complain about everything XD

i think gx is the least expensive class. in fact i think any 'solo' new player should play gx as their starting class coz it's so 'retardedly' easy to play and earn zeny with gx.

I'll give a serious response then m8. Others covered it as much, but eh. 

 

As a personal note, I made my first GX when renewal was first out (like 6 months in) and I hated playing it. I abandoned it and made other characters instead. When I came back about a year ago after yet another break, I made a GX because I wanted to make a solo farmer and it seemed more suitable for that than my other classes, and having changed my view of HOW the GX ought to be played, I found leveling was very easy and enjoyable -- so much so that I 175'd it with the only issue being that I nearly broke my left hand from spamming my 'rolling cutter' hotkey. 

 

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that maybe you're just not approaching things in a way that is conducive to your enjoyment and efficacy. 

 

1) When mobbing, flee is irrelevant as the premier way to level as a GX is to use HP leech gear which basically makes getting hit irrelevant. Also, many effects can proc from getting hit, and in some cases the flinching helps to cancel animations, so overall it's actually better in many regards. If you lack HP leech gear, then yeah it sucks, but making a thanatos katar is e-z-p-z and that's basically half the equation. 

 

Also, all classes suffer the flee penalty more than thief classes, so we are still kind of "winning" out here. Also, you can always stack perfect dodge ;D 

 

2) Weapon blocking is a terrible skill and shouldn't be used, unless for some deranged reason you opted for a counter slash build. I have no idea what they were thinking with this skill or how it was envisioned as anything other than silliness. If you go for weapon crush, then... I guess you're aiming for flavor but in pvp it is pointless cuz fcp slaves are super common. So, basically, no, don't go for this. 

 

3) You already have an enchant poison ability that stacks with poisonous weapon, and the poisonous weapon abilities DO work on non-boss enemies. Though really, they'll die from EDP+RC so fast that it'd be pointless to depend on it. Still, they're cheap and easy to make and they last long enough that you can have something like Leech End, Venom Bleed, or Paralysis -- especially on later enemies that have hundreds of thousands of HP.  The poisons are definitely more for PVP where they can really annoy players and potentially be the difference between winning a fight or losing it. 

 

4) You're totally right on the dark-illusion aftercast delay. That one is pure BS, never mind that you basically spend 5 skill points on it as a pre-req no less. 

 

As a final word, you should never be stingy with EDP -- as soon as you have RC at level 5, you should definitely be using EDP whenever leveling -- it honestly saves you so much time and money.

Little tip on DPS increase for cheap: Use Venom Dust. This little skill can help you out. As I started and didnt got the cash for Poison Bottles, helped me good in Magma and Jupe. Heck, use it even with edp on if you can for more DPS and more HP/SP drain.
