I decided to put some background on the latest version ^^,

BEFORE (2013): (used Photoshop only with regular brushes (except for background) used a BAMBOO pen tablet)

AFTER (2016): (used Paint Tool SAI with pencil, paint, airbrush, and watercolor, didn't want to add a background. Also used the same pen tablet from 3 years ago)

 

(You don't have to do it in this manner, this is just an example/my submission!)

I made that ugly sinX last year (around the scenic summer contest) when I was planning to open commission on forum. As you can see, it didn't turn out well.. lol I never like to draw anime or person before but I enjoyed it now specially the coloring part :3

Old: Circa 2005-6, probably a Sakura ink pen on printer paper, probably drawn during class.

New: Today, 2016, mechanical pencil drawing in a sketchbook.

 

I hope this counts for genuine effort and improvement.  My first ragnarok character ever was a female hunter lol.

 

 

Bonus note: there was a print out of some old RO skill sim for a falconer build stored with the old drawing, LOL.  I have no idea what the website was that I had used.

 

I'm working on a colored version, but knowing me I'd close out of the program and forget about it until long after the event was over, so I went ahead and submitted.  Thanks for motivating me to finally do something i've been saying I'd do for years (redrawing old stuff).  It was pretty fun.

Left: Old Drawing (Sorry for potato quality, I don't have the original artwork any longer since my laptop committed seppuku and could only find the one from Photobucket) somewhere about 2006-2008

Right: New Drawing (The only art piece I have committed to finishing since 2009)

 

I am more comfortable with traditional art with actual pen and paper. For this drawing I used a regular HB2 pencil and sketch paper, cleaned up the art work a bit with photoshop.

Both art works were done traditionally, just I became a lost messier with my art and both were scanned.

 

Decided to shade some other parts of the drawing and decided not to draw the ugly looking ghost bandana! Thanks for hosting this event, I actually tried to finish an actual sketch at least of something instead of leaving my works half way and leaving myself with little to no practice to improving and simply give up. xD

I'm surprised that i can even find one, last time when i intensively did ro art was in my middle school days

Before: Sketch of my AB from 2 years ago. Used a pen and paper to sketch it (sorry about the crap quality of the pic!)

Re-drawing an old artwork from 2014's Halloween Loading screen thread. I don't really draw that often and lost a good amount of files I did have from switching computers and moving a lot. :c

 

Before:

 

Never tried drawing digitally from scratch before, used vector tutorials to make this and it was very confusing and horrible.

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator (Mistake), Adobe Photoshop CS4, and mouse (Second mistake)

 

After:

 

Tools used: Paint Tool SAI (A godsend) Adobe Photoshop CS4, and mouse (still a mistake)

I think we're looking at circa 2003 for the old piece of work. It's been a hot minute since I played Ragnarok and I'm glad to be playing again. Not my best but I also didn't draw a lot of ragnarok fanart back in the day. This was digging in the deep archives. XD

Remake from my 2013 Christmas loading screen, without Christmas ornament.
 

Both done in Paint Tool Sai with Genius tablet.

I kinda forgot what brush I used in the old art, but I think it was mainly pen and custom smudge tool, also line tool for the lineart, The new one was combination of water, smudge, airbrush, and marker.

 

Removed the tree ornament, and added more backgrounds.

remade my 2010 artwork of me and my guildmate. upgraded their classes to 3rd job versions fixed their cringy anatomy. learned a bit more on lightings eheheh and somehow fixed their faces XD 

just wanted to try this for fun ^^
