the script is wrong but the staff don't care the script is set too high but nobody is listening lalalala it shouldn't proc via other characters in that way tho I don't want to say because it'll be more malignant than it is but even if they decide the rate was not wrong then they should reduce it due to the bug.

 

inb4 "the studio needs to do that" p sure they don't but yeah.

 

edit: also players bugging the entirety of thors level 3 to farm plat shields doesn't help. It's too strong to be such a common item.

It's just like when someone (god knows who) decided to "fix" the staff of destruction by adding +25% matk to it's script not realizing it already had it via another method.

Either the proc rate or the bug.

so the script is suppossed to be either:

• Adds a 15% chance of using [Magic Mirror] Lv 7 when attacked by magic <--- according to irowiki but there's no such thing as Magic Mirror 7 based on the database

or

• Has a 40% chance to reflect magic for 2 seconds with each magic spell attack

So what I think it is, that magic mirror level 7 should be 40% rate for 2 seconds as 1-5 is for 30 seconds.

 

Plat shield lasts 2 seconds.

 

If it was changed to just magic reflect, that would only work on targetted magic.

 

It's supposed to be a 1.5% chance to proc (it's def higher) I heard it's 15% on classic.

 

But I wouldn't be surprised if it was set to 40%.

I'm sure it procs through sac targets, let's say each paladin is wearing plat shield and sacing 2 or 3 people, it procs from hits taken by its sac targets as if they were all wearing plat shield

isnt maya card and single target magic reflect cards/gears also like that when applied at sac-ed target?

i saw a prerenewal vid years ago, high priest and paladin in bio3 on fixed spawn of KK. the paladin use maya and sac-ed the high priest. so the priest have maya effect as well. they look very fun when the KK keep dying by her own spells due to targetting 2 maya 'users'.
you can make entire magic reflect party with just one maya wearing crusader on it and sac everyone.

It's still a thing, and pretty much nuifies wizards on classic server, since they're not able to cast much AoE skills since they get one shot by plat shield and shut down easily

I understand you but HW with FBH hurt a lot. It is a high dmg with AoE Skill.

 

But every kind of damage needs a means of defense. If nerf the PS, nerf FBH too ...

It's not a nerf to plat shield, its a fix. Plat shield essentially has a better effect than an MVP card in its current implementation, and it is a common drop.

Okay lets lay this all out.

 

• Platinum shield procs via sac target damage meaning one paladin = 6 chances to proc max (for practical reasons most pallies don't sac more than 3 players, but this is possible)
• Proc rate seems extraordinarily high regardless.
• Drop rate is artificially high because classic.

There is zero defense against platinum shield other than numbers. Read: Having mutliple wizards and /or CP. (plat shield does not activate in CP)

 

Kaite is useless for the most part because there are too many crystal fragments on the server thanks to GSB.

 

My suggestion: Lower the activation rate of plat shield to account for it being able to work off 6 players. On some servers the rate is something like 0.5%  which makes sense when you take into consideration almost all magic spell are also multiple hits.

 

 

also I would be interested to test what magic Mirror level 6 does.
