Pretty sure servers are kept closed not just because of ddos, but because of people-randomly-logging-into-wrong-accounts issue which has potential to turn really nasty.

 
Ya what if someone longed into a gm account and not only find the gms alt cart names but also start summoning mvps and god items.

I dont mind if you close the server for a whole month if you give us back the server without any kind of problems, a DDoS cant be stop at all but you can do it something about the account login problem, about compensation we need for real, nothing like stupid EXP or DROP event, just give us the VIP time waste and Battle manuals / Gums, etc.

It's hilarious that people are just now accepting the possibility that people are intentionally exploiting the "log in to other people's account glitch" when I said it hours ago and everyone thought I was crazy

Why would pserver admins even care? They're not going to make enough money to ddos multiple officials.

It's probably butthurt botters/banned people, or people using an exploit that requires hammering server.

Even though I'm still not sure who are the suspects I would like to point it out that pservers do have the money to hire a ddos attack, considering it's extremely cheap (compared to the amount of money it requires to defend from ddos) to hire a private "stress test" company and that they do earn a -_- ton of money as well, and unlike WP, they don't have to deal with all the crap that companies gotta deal with.

For me personally, I'm giving this server a chance until first week of August. If I can have a decent playing experience during that time, I will continue playing. If this keep happening, I'll donate all my items and zeny to random people in Prontera. I want to play game to enjoy, I don't have to deal with these random server down. Yes they work to fix it, but it's not really my problem. I want to play, I'm willing to pay, but when it's unplayable, there's no reason for me to stay.

I'll take request if you really need +7 Priest set with cards in it. Some bubble gum box and BM.

This server is failed, it's open for less than a month, and how many days of massive lag and server down? A week?

I dont think the attacks are coming from p.server admins. If so, they must be some p.server scrubs because if I was a player of ThRO/PRO, I would never leave the competent official server. I mean, why would I play p.server where scrubs blatantly cheat? Not to mention, any p.servers are just too small compared to ThRO/PRO. I tried NovaRO before. The population was just too small and I quit within a week.

 

Now people could log in other people's account(s)? Randomly or not ... well god, help us! lmfao

what i do not understand is.... doesn't warpportal run another ragnarok online server already?

 

does it also get ddos attacks? what precautions are used for it? don't they have experience for this kindda situations?

Good questions, I don't feel that they open this server seriously. Whatever their technical issue is or with, I don't need or want to know. Only few people 100% support WP even in this disastrous service, most likely they are friends or WP staffs minions.

they probably don't know...

 

They can only test it if the DDOS had continued.

 

If they stoped the DDOS, they must be doing everything they think, so when they came back, they could test when the DDOS get back...

 

if the DDOS continued since the morning, idk, maybe they didnt find the solution yet....
