Not as much as you think. For a long time iRO barely got updates because iRO was well aware they had to ask kRO for them but iRO wasn't doing it.

 

Heimdallr-era WP was a hell of a lot more open than the bureaucratic "gotta protect kRO's balls at all cost" mess that we have now.

IMO IRO staffs still better than KRO staffs themselves, according to several answers from Q&A support I've read.
KRO staffs are quite fast about technical support but quite poor about in-game information.

Thats because heim personally met with the kRO team over Sush and lots of gifts..  No joke.  Who could resist sushi?

Fortunately only the major content updates are considered.. well major content updates. We are also requesting smaller updates to the game itself not in terms of content but game systems as well. We've requested the following games systems from the studio to be delivered throughout the year in 2018.

Update studio says programming team won't be free to deliver anything until November(unless its an emergency). In november were supposed to get the Illusion of Vampire Dungeon and the Rune Knight/Mechanic update afterwards.

Better give up on most of the updates guys, nothings gonna change. Meanwhile in the PH, Ragnarok Mobile just launched so iRO-Thor pop is gonna be reduced to 0 soon.

Gravity plans to start pre-registration Ragnarok M in North and South America and Oceania during 2018 and launch in the first quarter of 2019.

as for my plan.. i will stick to play on normal ragnarok mainly.. because of the wide variety of features a normal ragnarok could offer..gameplay stability. game play tactics..etc.. plus it has an upcoming new jobs like star soul and etc... i can always play mobile anytime while playing normal ragnarok.. well hopefully there is some future updates and plans happening in iRO to be aware of this situation... sorry... ahmm merge? sorry for this one.

In 2017, we only got 3 updates out of that list and it's looking highly likely we'll get just 2 updates out of this year's list. This is just sad, what are we paying for? Got us all hyped up for a fun 2018 and all that led to in the end was... a mobile game.

2018 was a disappointment for two reasons.

 

1- it was a bad year for updates, and they still failed to deliver them all

2- could have been topped up with community projects, but not enough time for the better part of the year to see them through

bonus point- all the region bans

But it's a fully-fledged Ragnarok Online experience on Mobile. Also, it's strictly mobile, no plans to port any of it's functionalities to PC.
