Hello Everyone,

My apologies for the delay in our response. We were investigating what was going on with the login issues.

This is what we found:

Recently we received word to block login access from regions serviced by the twRO partner and our IT team implemented this change. Due to this we are prohibited from accepting direct access from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. However, users may still login through connections originating from North America and other regions we directly service.

Sadly, this is not something we can choose not to do as this decision came from above. If you are affected by the block, recently made purchases, and have no intention of playing please let us know in a ticket so we can assist you further.

Lastly, I want to apologize for any frustration this has caused. We could have handled this much better with notifications and postings and will strive to improve in the future.

If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them all day.

So gravity is going by the regionalized server business strategy, despite the fact that they know very well it may kill iRO. Not surprising to me though.

Just IP block right? Not account ban?

Will other regions follow the same fate? SGMY and TH is currently having revo servers...

I think players from Russia and CIS countries should prepare to do something.

RO will be relaunched and be provided the service in such countries within this quarter.

No matter whether it is IP ban or Account suspension, the context of this decision is frightening. Apparently some people are jealous, and they are doing work.

The block is an IP block on the logins. Regarding other regions, we  currently block registrations from territories we do not service. We have no plans to enact such login blocks to other regions. I honestly can't tell you the future. But I do not believe it will happen any time soon.

The more I look at it, the more WP/iRO feels like an abandoned child from the arrogant and yet incompetent parent known as Gravity/kRO. Cant complain about WP/iRO in this case, theres nothing much they can do, though where I live Child Abuse is considered illegal.

I asked a question to raise awareness and concern about the possibility of regional block from Thailand and my post got removed. One of the main reasons iRO has gaining new players lately is because players from Thailand are coming to iRO. Seeing how things go, I can’t advertise and recommend iRO to my Thai friends. That’s like I was asked by my friend to recommend his unemployed son to get a job and the dude blows up with his unprofessional work ethics, giving me embarrassment.

I feel like you suddenly blocked the regions to avoid RMT. I don’t know how to feel about this sudden decision. Anyways good luck WP.

Obviously not since they're enforcing the regional contracts that they have fallen lax on. They probably already have plans to rename iRO (international) into naRO (North America) once all the regional walls are up.

Have to see which other Ragnarok partners will want their players blocked from playing this and play only on their locale version instead; or if Kro wants players to play within their own region servers and not outside of them.

I don't play iRO but I like to come in here and follow the discussions and the quality content.

With this block ocurring iRO will lose a lot of it's diversity and creativity when it comes to player content creation and honestly I bet most people who play iRO also play their regional serves to some extent, this will backfire and make them angry with their own regional servers, and IMO, it is warranted.

I know you guys don't have a saying in the matter but it is a shame that it turned out this way. I feel REALLY bad for those affected by this thinking about all the time "safely" invested in a server that holds the "International" in it's name.

On a bright side, each regional server can focus on their players who share the same values, cultures and norms. Everyone will use the same currency to pay for services. There will also have less lags for players as now SEA folks won’t have to play in iRO. On the downside, how many people will be left in iRO lol

Next stop: Brazil or Thailand or China or Indonesia? :3
