This idea, based on the ideas about elemental weapons (New Weapons and Elemental (Melee) Weapons), is about a new type of Launcher that deal light damage instead of physical damage.

The Ion Accelerator (or Ionic Accelerator) would be a launcher specialy designed for Avengers. It could work in the following ways:

Ion Accelerator (Elemental Weapon)

In this case, the weapon would only have light damage and could use the normal Ion Energy shells or new ones of Light damage.


Ion Accelerator (Hybrid Weapon)

In this case, the weapon would have physical and light dmg (or magic). While in the case of launchers, the physical damage is what it rise when is reinforced, in the case of the Ion Accelerator, is the light damage the one that rise (and the physical damage would stay fixed).

The physical damage would be used for the auto attacks and the light damage would affect the traps and other light skills (if are implemented). It would be like a wand but instead of have melee auto attacks, it would have long ranged ones.

An alternative would be to add light damage (or magic damage) to the launchers and the magic damage could stay fixed when reinforce: but this idea wouldnt be so helpful in the long run.


Ion Accelerator Skills

This skills could be implemented regardless of the implementation of the new weapon. The idea is based in the idea that if Avengers need to use light damage to increase their trap damage, then why not have other skills based on light damage?

Ion Beam

A ray of light that hit the target and deal damage over time. The caster cant move while the skill last or the skill will be interrupted. The ray last 10 secs and deal damage each 2 secs (it also could be each 1 sec but the skill damage should be divided over 2). The skill spend 1 ion energy shell per hit.

Ionic Pulse

A strong ray of light that pierce the targets. Casting time 1 sec, piercing damage over 6 target, range 30 meters.

Ionic Blast

A massive damage skill that deal aoe damage. Targeting skill (but also could be a ground aoe), affects 8 targets and have a long CD. It spend a full Ion Energy cartridge (or canister: dont know wich one is the right one in this case) and the skill damage would be based on that damage. Then the total damage would be the usual formula but the skill damage would be the full Ion Energy damage over the number of targets (a lvl 70 Ion Energy deal 25 damage, 1000 bullets would be 2500 damage over 8 targets, so, the maximum base damage for that skill with lvl 70 bullets would be 312.5 per target).

With the skill damage being defined with the total damage of the ammo, the skill lvl would define the radius, number of targets and CD of the skill (the higher the lvl of the skill, the shorter the CD).

The damage could, and should, be higher but that would be in the hands of the devs to find the right formula.


Regardless of the skill, i think that the idea of Hunters having skills that spend different amount of ammo is interesting. I mean, even if the skill was oped, how many full canisters they could have, and how expensive would be to use it without discrimination?


In the end, the main idea is to have some light skills for the Avengers, now that the traps are based on that element.

Well, this things could appear as strange and unbalanced but the main idea was to throw some lines and not a finished suggestion.

The main lines were:

-Maybe a new type of launcher for Avengers: one that shoot light.
-Some launcher skills that are based on light damage.
-And the introduction to hunter skills that spend all the cartridge, with the win of big damage but with limited use.
