iRO Renewal Weekly Maintenance

July 10th, 8:00PM -  July 11th 6:00PM PDT

 

Restart Users:
Your merged accounts have been added to the RO1 account system. You can view them through the account management page on Warpportal.com. All restart accounts had 're_' added to the account name.

 

This Week Gramps Turn-In monsters

  • Low: Pest / Freezer
  • Mid: Wakwak / Draco
  • High: Golden Acidus / Blue Acidus

Updates

  • Cash shop will be turned off on Chaos and Thor for a bit as we monitor the server for any reports of merger related issues. Cash shop is back on!
  • TI Map Changes
    • Moved to their own map server
      • No Instances will be assigned to this map server
      • This allows for mid week restarts without negatively affecting other users.
    • TI maps updated to block Tarot Card of Fate
      • During testing, the Lovers Card experienced no issue that would disable the monster. Every time a monster was teleported, we were able to find the monster.
      • Other cards from the deck, however, caused the issue
      • This week we're testing to see if disabling Tarot Card of Fate prevents the issue
      • Next week, we will reenable Tarot Card of Fate. This is to gather large scale memory dumps from the game to gather evidence of the issue and get the skill fixed. We have started this process on a smaller scale with our test environment. 
  • Detonation Celebration bug fixes
  • Fixed an issue where Hair Dye NPC Coiffeurstar was not properly coloring Side Tails and Chignon hairdos
  • Cooldown for Ferus Faire boss fight lowered from 8 Hours to 4 Hours

  • Ferus Coin rewarded from treasure chest increased from 75 to 100

Hey campi, or any staff member team, I were wondering, is there any info about rune knight runes improvment? I mean, I remember it were expected to arrive around last december, since DB became a thing again I didn't hear much about it.

Btw thanks for the changes on T.I's, I hope it solves part of the problem, everyone can benefit from that.

Hey campi, or any staff member team, I were wondering, is there any info about rune knight runes improvment? I mean, I remember it were expected to arrive around last december, since DB became a thing again I didn't hear much about it.

Btw thanks for the changes on T.I's, I hope it solves part of the problem, everyone can benefit from that.

Very beginning September is when they want to do it (again) but I don't want to announce officially it for sure until I get the test build so as not to disappoint.. again.

The amount of people doing the quest was already low to begin with, but these past days the place became a ghost town.

Could you guys please remove the cooldown or at least reduce it to something like 1 hour?

I hope these test will result solve part of the issue. I would like to suggest to put active aggresive monsters on this weeks TI, so autocasters will be guarantee to be there, and we can have a scenario where you can collect the data needed.

For all TIs, aggresive monsters, no ranged monsters as suggestion.

Hope this goes for the good way, from the bottom of a iRO Player, thanks for trying, best wishes to this effort

I find it sad that people are blaming Auto casters for this issue. The problem is simple , Up the spawn rates problem solved.The problem is server side not auto casters lol....

Campitor, I would like to ask if there’s any sort of progress or update with the “Improving Ragnarok Online” thread that was posted about a month ago. Any response from the studio or any sort of update? People sorta stopped posting (likely due to no response in a while), and I personally just didn’t wanna post being unsure if we are going anywhere with this.

Also, ranged monsters makes it hard not only for afk players to level, but for other players too.

 

They aren't too hard to deal with when we are talking about normal maps, but when it comes to TIs where there are hundreds of them, it's simply impossible to move without an Eddga card or even survive.

Camp, pls could change some itens on the raffler? 

I suggest to change or remove the Belzeebub wing box and 20x temporal crystal, most times when raffler come with these itens nobody bet until he (or she) changes the item by himself

Or at least could decrease the raffle time from 10 min to 2 or 1 minutes? it will help too

Autocaster builds are not the issue. As far as we can tell it is a problem with a specific skill. If Minstrel and Gypsy became wildly popular the same issue would most likely occur.

Glad to finally see some progress being made here, hopefully this helps you guys get closer to finally fixing the problem.

 

 

 

 

Spotlight *New*

  • Hugel, Dragons, Heroes Trail Instances.

 

  • Is the Dragons referring to Abyss lake? or just dragon monsters in general? Would actually be an interesting idea to spotlight monster types instead of area of the game. Would also be nice if that NPC (I forget her name it's been so long) that gave you exp if you did a spotlighted area's quests came back.

Also its the KSERS ingame that make the problems worse for all other players, the Auto Casters are not doing anything wrong, So don't blame them.

Sounds good Camp, So lets get that specific skill removed and throw in another skill to replace it, Throw in like Storm Gust or something. Problem solved. And for the complainers up spawn rate 2x and wait for the complaints of how they cant level there cause its to hard. Problem solved XD

That doesn't really solve the problem. You can increase the spawn rates all you want but they will keep disappearing because of the skill.

Not if the skill is removed. Case in point.

 

If the skill is fixed or just disabled from the maps, there will be no need to remove it entirely from the game nor increasing the spawn rates of the TI (which were fine before this happened).

They did up the spawn rate and the problem was still there. Something the auto casters were doing (At this point assumed to be Tarot Card of Fate) was causing monsters to not respawn, thus decreasing the overall mob population of the map to miniscule levels. They could up the spawn rates to x100 and they would still have issues. If it wasn't for that one thing, people wouldn't have as much of a problem with auto casters as they do now.

 

It's not as simple as "Put more monsters on the map", each monster on the map is it's own individual entity the game tracks, when it dies the game takes note of that and respawns it again somewhere on the map. Something was happening that when the monster died the game wasn't taking note of that monsters death and therefore not respawning it because it hadn't or was unable to take note of it and as far as the game is aware didn't need to be respawned and thus didn't. It's not the spawn rates that are the issue, it's something going wrong with the mechanics behind monster respawns that's the issue.

I don't really get KS'ed that often, I suppose if I am hoarding monsters they are free for all, even then people usually respect my mob, I can say that most people who kill my mobs does it by mistake and do apologize, the other thing is when I were gathering mobs, and other person crossed my path with his mob, he does not have to tank my mobs for my sake, but even on high t.i, when I had like 20+ rock steps on me, it was pretty rare that I got intentionally KS'ed, I were not autocasting tho, maybe that is why
