It will not let me edit the Version.dat folder from UserPatchVersion=388 to 392 it says i dont have administrative permission.

what do u do when after the new update was done i whent to launcher to start the game and update it to play and my virus protection tells me requiem has a virus now ?????
when i didnt have this problem with the game befor update

Do you have windows vista or seven? if you have the game installed in the program files folder it may be blocking it. You can do a few things, the first would be to check my signature (press the "show" button) for the guide to install the game under windows vista and seven. The second would be to copy and paste the version.dat file to the desktop or even move the installed game to the desktop and then make the change: if you only move the file, after you edit it, place it again in the original location and overight the old one.

Everything is updated, but when I try to "Start" it says "No execution file exists.". Help?

I think this is somehow all related to my problem...I hadn't played for about 3 months so I tried to run the game and the installer started to patch. Within seconds my virus protection started pulling patch files as viruses and I would get the "failed patch" errors. I restored the files that Trend quarantined and tried again. This time the update killed the patches because "files not found, but files with the same name have been found with missing content," or something very similar due to the restoration of the quarantined files (which included Requiem.exe so that blows the whole wad). So, I said, screw it. I uninstalled everything, reinstalled it from the 1st copy of Memento Mori I still had and ran the updated WITHOUT THE VIRUS PROTECTION ON (leaving on the firewalls and all that). About 80% in, and 4 hours later, (crappy connection here at work) the damn thing canceled on its own without any help from the anti-virus program.

I'm now downloading the new version of the Memento Mori (still having a time lag issue) and will try the manual patches.


My BIG QUESTION: Has anyone else had a problem with their anti-virus pulling files outta the patches????? I've never seen this happen in the few years I've played this game.

With luck, we will get the new client this week (i hope). And people will able to save the trouble to update all that.

Yes, people was having troubles to run the game thx to their antivirus or firewall. Comodo was giving troubles and Trend Antivirus. People needed to uninstall them to be able to run the game, but i thought that was alredy fixed.

The UpdaterUSA.exe file is inside the requiem folder? maybe you arnt running as administrator, wich windows do you have?

Hi.. file 389 cannot pass the checking.. I guess it's corrupted. I have spent about 9 hours today trying to make the bloody game work and when it comes to 389 it stops... on checking requiem.exe

thanks for your help and support... unfortunately it did not help. Same error. I will have to wait for the new client, probably it will resolve this issue.
One more question... do I have to reinstal the game from a scratch or is it enough to change .dat file and try to execute from 389. Sorry if I sound 'nooby' I'm just tired of making it over and over again

yup... already seen these posts.. done that.. and the unofficial patcher does not exist under this adress... I have even uninstall my comodo firewall too.. it did not help, which means it's not a comodo issue... I used to have such problems long way in the past, when requiemMM was Blodymare, but usually it was resolved by patches. thanks again... great post.

388 in both lines, win 7pro64 with uac turned off,
but actually I tried manual update few more times and the game had been patched... the 389 passed the test, all others finished succesfully, only to see 'requiem.exe has been stopped' msg while I was trying to execute the .exe file.. I did the full check and it said 'corrupted'
Now I'm browsing forum thru to see if I can find anything useful why it happens. I'm not sure if I like the game this much

When you place the patch 389 in the patch folder, you can try to modify the version.dat and put the userpatchversion in 389 (if you put more patches you can put the number of the highest patch you placed there, the latest is 404).

If you patched the game to 389 and didnt run later is because the latest patch is the 404. You can try to move the requiem folder to the desktop and try to patch again, some times windows 7 give that kind of trouble. You can search in my signature (press the "show" button) for the guide about how to install in windows seven and vista.

I know... I know.. Like I said.. I did succesfully patch the game.. 100%, then I tried to run the game and the '.exe file stopped workin' message appeared... so I tried to run full check and it said 'corrupt' Now I'm in the process of reinstaling the game from a scratch (5th time today). I already have read your other links. The problem appears to go deeper...

When uninstall, remember to delete the remaining files (save the screenshots), and maybe even reset the pc. Some times isnt the best idea to patch at this hours or later because there is more traffic.

Also, dont give up, a new client should be available soon, that way wont need to patch so much, lets hope that is aledy patched to a higher patch than the 389 XD

yes... comodo did it to me some time ago... but i turned off defense + and it worked fine... then after another patch the client stopped working, and I stopped playing MM. Today I tried to reinstal the game... but I had to unistall my beloved comodo (using crappy microsoft stuff again) now my instalation goes nice and smooth thanks to manual patches and Nadesh's help. I hope it's gonna work fine afterall.. If not I'm waiting for another client release... (hopefully they fix comodo problem too....)
