Debuff skill still with us :(

It would probably be best if the skil % success was decreased some more or....even better, the skill would only take one or two buffs away. Mages would be able to kill better if maybe they could remove defense and evasive, or mspeed (or what do you all think would be most helpful to mages?). But the skill as it stands now is still too OP in wars and pvp and should still have adjustments made.

In pvp is the skill only against 1-2 classes really usefull. As said so many times previously, the debuff skill has caused sooo much drama in game. Yes, it is a skill and a new one so I don't blame mages for using it. I would imagine that is any other class got a new, OP skill they would be using it too. But the skill still needs some adjustments, and soon.

In wars it would be nice if it just removes mspeed buff - that would be more than enaugh - but then with less cd? =)

vs non ranged it hits first, so right off the bat you already have atleast a 50% chance of winning if the skill hits alone.
vs ranged classes you can just use it right after they stun you and there is nothing they can do about it.

Who cares, if they have to rely on a single skill to kill everyone they better quit playing mages.

Your Idea of removing only certain buffs is awesome. Altho I think it should be random.
But AGAIN, the contreversy (or DRAMA) is caused by the pvp aspect of the game...sigh.

That's because when everyones done grinding/farming their stuff thats what they aim for PvP type stuff, so that'll always be the main contreversy.

Instead a mage should have more m-speed and more defense.
I am KOS for a lot of people because i debuff them, i use it on purpose.
More people will complain and maybe force the removal of both debuff skills.
Mage is weak in UW and needs an upgrade

Mm.. being a Mage, I have to agree here. Our defense sucks major ass and our HP is irrationally low. They should remove both debuff skills right now,its annoying and useless.

mages do not need more def or m-speed they are fine, what justifies them having more defense and m-speed? do you want them to be a a tank moving at 5k m-speed or something? Their defense is fine, most classes do not land over 2k damage to a decently geared mage, seeing how high their m-defense is and physical attacks dont do much damage now days... Also the fact that they are the only class that can land over 5k damage to any class in one skill and has 4 stuns, 2 mutes and 2 debuffs? Also, I dont understand how people complain about mages m-speed their m-speed is decent, equivilent to clerics and only about 10% less then artisans, about 50 less then bourgs and 10% less then champs and on par with knights, so I see no problem really.

you defense is not low, you do not need high defense due to the fact that magic skills which deal most of the damage to most classes do not really affect you because of mages high magic defense, also the fact that physical attacks the damage does not scale as much as magic attacks, making them pretty weak. As For hp, you cannot complain about this because mages have the same or more hp then every other class besides the soldier class and maybe 10% less then artisans due to their passive.

Because mages are so fragile I think they should be able to get more skills of in the time they are alive by speeding up some of the casting animations. Right now they have some of the slowest casting skills and it doesn't help that they are the quickest to die in most situations.

Remove the debuffs, they only imbalance the game and aren't an answer to a mages weaknesses.

mages are not fragile at all, try kill a properly built mage, it is not as easy as it seems, as for mages animations some of the skills are a bit slow, but if they do speed up skill animation there has to be a reduction of the range of the skill and maybe remove 1 mute and 1 stun, 3 stuns is far more then enough, and the duration of the mute is way too long... along with the stuns and the mutes, if mages animations get sped up, they will have first stun over all classes, and with the 4 stuns they got and the 2 mutes, it will be another auto win.

Champs have a mute skill which makes a mage defenseless, too slow to run away from it too.
I can have up to 8k defense but that aint enough.
You mentioned a "proper build" mage, how does that look like in your view?

Mages and clerics can wear def or hp gear to help some or mspd gear just like every other class that needs or wants some extra. Or wear a combination of gear to add to what you are lacking. Mages typically can get enough AP that they can give up a bit of it for mspd or whatever. Mages played right can be a challenging class to play..and that is good. Once the Devs finish balancing all the classes maybe being a mage won't be so frustrating to play.
The big thing I still don't understand is why other classes have magic skills like mute. I can see poison, since poison arrows or bullets make sense. And a lot of the other classes have skills that you can kind of relate to their strength or dex or mspd, but to me mute is a magic based skill. Unless maybe they hit you so hard you were muted by their attack, but as it is now it is a cast skill not an attack. Guess we will await more class balancing and see what happens.

As always, Phish is exactly right.
Faster cast animations would help a mage in many ways that would make up for their lack of survivability. Would need to remove both debuffs and give mage a different skill in place of it though (plus a slight balancing).
