Increase prices for all warps. This will encourage people to pay for a VIP account. A few hours ago, I decided to make a ragtag group of warp slave acolytes and multicliented to charge people 3,000 zeny to warp out of Payon, Rachel, Eden Group and Aldebaran. Within a few hours, I made roughly 275,000 zeny. People are willing to pay 3,000 for a simple Payon->Prontera warp (probably higher, but 3k seemed fair). This also helps with inflation, by taking a lot of currency off the market.
Adding crucial warps will make it easier for new players (and old) want to stay with Ragnarok Online. Honestly, it could be a make it or break it issue with some folks, for example, they become irritated that they do not have the option to at least return to warp back to Prontera and then quit the game over the issue. The key is to add the necessary warps, while at the same time making a VIP account look attractive, which can be done by either making Non-VIP warps more expensive, or making VIP warps cheaper and/or giving more warp destinations (maybe a free dungeon teleporter?). Although it could be argued that people don't buy VIP status for warps. If someone had maxed out their character and were to play for WoE/chat purposes only, they probably wouldn't buy VIP status just so that could warp around. I'm assuming that most people get VIP for the exp and drop bonus, so you could probably throw in a few VIP only leveling events, or make lucky boxes have better odds for VIP, or a Boxter NPC for VIP people only. I just think there are better ways to entice people into buying VIP, rather than witholding warps. Honestly, if I were to pay for VIP, it would be for exp and drops, the warping doesn't really matter to me, if I want to get around the lack of warps, I can EASILY make a job level 8 warp slave, so the only people that the warp restrictions actually hurt are casual players, who may quit over the issue.
Increased mobility helps fight spammers! Remember when people use to save in Geffen and Aldebaran, and the satellite cities from Alberta were considered "ghost towns"? Well, now everything is a ghost town, except for Prontera, and there we have an infinitely massive army of robots chanting psychopathic nonsense, actively driving away new players. I know you guys on Ymir are thinking, "oh we are safe here, it requires a credit card to play on our server, oh those robots will never get us". Trust me, if there is a market for zeny selling, the bots and the spammers will come, as the zeny sellers have no problem with stealing and falsifying credit card information. Remember, there were bot farms way before Ragnarok Online went free to play. The fact of the matter is that right now, Valkyrie is more lucrative for them. However, things may change, now that Ymir is free to play as well, if the population spikes up, be on the lookout for these souless menaces. Anyways, by increasing mobility, people will be able to call other places "home" which would force the spammers to distribute their forces and workload, making it easier to right click and ignore them.
Remove warps that are clearly there to make things easier for the player. Non-VIPs can ride the dirty airship, no instant gratification for you buddy, you have to pay for VIP status for an instant teleport to your destination!
