Professions

What is professions about?
In the upcoming update, professions provides several jobs that allow users to produce items to help themselves in-game. The MyHome becomes highly important and highly emphasized within this update. A part of the production process requires having a MyHome to hold the production item. There are Four Professions to choose from. Also, there is a level cap increase to 75!

I wouldn't assume that this system requires IM just yet just because it involves MyHomes, especially considering the fact that it's going to be a major new component of the game. Reportedly, IM can help you speed up the production system process, but is not required... After all, purchasing and keeping a MyHome only requires gold, not IM!

You apparently don't require any MyRoom upgrades to fully make use of the system.

There's a maximum cap on number of devices usable at the same time, and the usual 20G room is good enough.
It'll be crowded as heck though...,

It means, if you don't have a MyHome of some sort, you cannot fully make use of the Profession system. To further process your items, you must have a MyHome or use someone else's MyHome. It is more advantageous that you use your own, unless you have multiple professions. It doesn't say anywhere that you must use Item Mall. 20G will get you a MyHome from Real Estate Agent <Jesse>.

So how does this work? Im assuming the home items are not from the item mall, but from quest rewards when you get your profession?

It may be a reward item, an item that you receive from a quest, or an item that you can purchase from an NPC. That hasn't been determined yet. Once I know, I'll let you know.

That's an interesting idea since the more skills you want to learn, the more gold it will cost you.

Added Fishing to the update.

Much of it likely has to be due to the issue of users splitting up. Claims become a larger issue than they should be.

Ooh, more to be anticipated!!

Also, will there be any plans to up the number of myhome invites past 10, or allow the option for friends and guild members to openly access other players' homes?

The larger the home becomes, it seems the higher the amount of invites are it seems. We'll get into that later though.
