Why do they have 2 different types of Oridecon? Is there any difference between these 2?

No, it only takes one HD Ori/Elu per attempt.three HD Oridecon each attempt?

Enriched elu/ori allows you to upgrade up to +9 with a higher success rate than normal or HD ore. On a failure, the item is lost.
HD elu/ori allows you to upgrade, with the normal success rate, but on a failure, the item has it's refine rate reduced by 1, instead of breaking. In order to use HD ore, the item must be +7 or higher, however, once you start a conversation with the HD upgrade npc, you can continue using HD elu, even if it falls below +7, as long as you don't run out of zeny or elu (and as long as you don't close the conversation).
In all cases, Oridicon is for weapons, Elunium for all kinds of armor.

So if I understand correctly, enriched is the "best" way to get to +7, and HD is the best way to get anything above +7. And there's no "safe" way of getting to +7; only for levels above +7.
Is this assessment correct?
