Hey guys i recently just started playing the game and just made the job change to theif (which was hard as heck since i didnt know where to find the theif guild ). But anyways is there a certain build i should follow? I want to become an assassin if that help, and what sort of stats should i add?

Thief skill builds are pretty straightforward. Double Attack 10 first. Then Increase Dodge to 10. After that you make a choice between getting Detox1 with Envenom at the minimum or work on getting Hide. Even if you job changed at job40, you'd have most of what you'll need for an Assassin. Double Attack 10 and Increase Dodge 10 are both extremely important though.

generally this is the route to go:
10 DA
10 ID
1 Envenom (at minimum for Enchant Poison prereq)
2 Hide (for Cloak)
10 Steal (more useful than you think - steal item, stack items to overcharge on OC merchant + more zeny till you can vend stuff)

once you hit assassin at job 40 or w/e you want (don't really need job 50)
generally get this:
10 KM
10 SB
5 GT
10 Cloaking (or 5-7 depending on your preference for cloak mspd - recommend 10)
rest into w/e
maybe RHM + LHM if you have daggers, though Katar + Chick Hat or generally just Katar + GT mobbing is really all you need to level up.

probably get an alt overcharge/discount and vend merchant to help out with your zeny.
