2nd ROSE Community Senate
#1
Posted 06 December 2011 - 03:05 PM
The Community Senate is a player-elected group to represent the players voice to the ROSE Dev Team.
Each Senator will have access to a special community forum to raise up topics on behalf of the community directly to the CM and Dev Team members.
Senators will have a special forum image title to show their standing amongst the community and staff.
Senators will serve a 6 month term, and re-elections will happen at the end of each semester.
Promise
The Community Teams desire is for the players to have a focused voice to the Dev Team and provide feedback on future changes, updates and help ensure that the voice of the community is heard.
Our Request
We ask that players think about who they want to represent them and who they believe is the best to voice their opinions, suggestions and offer the Dev Team a strong sense of the community as a whole.
To nominate a candidate, simply reply to this topic with your vote. Please give the name of your candidate, as well as a brief explanation as to why you believe they should be a member of the ROSE Senate. Remember, you cannot vote for yourself and votes that only contain the name of the nominee will not be counted. +1s, will also not count towards the vote. You must give a brief explanation as to why.
This is the Second election and will be handled via player nominations and then voting for the nominees will begin on Tuesday, December 13th to decide who will serve on the first semester of 2012's Community Senate.
Phish, Pick-Up and DestinyDeoxys are your current senate members and they can be nominated once again.
Voting will end on Monday, December 19th. The top 4 vote getter's will be part of this new Senate and may begin service on or after December 20th.

- Drop System
- We made a number of changes to the drop tables to help balance out a lot of the feedback since the original. There is still a few more things to be done, and work is still progressing on the drop table.
- Durability System
- Feedback was given that help us get through what wasn't directly posted on the forums, some small game play mechanics that needed change got a change.
- Events
- Feedback was given and helped us clear up some things with our events the last 4 months.
- Feedback on the Following Topics were provided, stuff we were not able to address but is in our pipeline for the Dev Team
- King's Quest
- Gems
- PvP Balace (Stat/Skill Balancing)
- Stat Balance
- Game Play Tweaks (Mainly small things that would improve game play which we have adjusted some and will work on others through the next year).
Just so Zepp's post was clear.
This thread is for nominations of other community members. Please make sure you give a background as to why you wanted to nominate someone. If you don't then the nomination will be overlooked.

Personally I find him very knowledgeable about the game.
He does contribute a lot of information on the forums in a variety of topics.
And so far I feel he's doing a good job at present as a Senator.

that's oerba.
Knowledgeable, modest, experienced in both aspects of the game, and think he'd bring his own unique perspective with new interesting ideas to the senate thingy.

Sunflower Girl- maybe often over-looked due to a lack of posts but I see her passion towards the game and know that when she posts it is something I want to read. Generally she addresses issues that need immediate attention. If given the opportunity, I see that she has a solid understanding of the game and, if asked nicely, she would convey the information effectively to the Dev Team. She would be great in organizing and prioritizing what the Dev's should be working on first and foremost.
Gojio- This guy knows the game and isn't afraid to open up and let you know it. He obviously does his homework and thinks before posting. He would be awesome in the position of Senator.
Any one of the 3 existing Senators could be nominated for re-election as far as I'm concerned but if I am forced to choose a 4th candidate for re-election, I will choose Pick-up. He is the most active as far as I can tell, maybe I'm wrong

I'll nominate Trebor as a community senator. Here is a guy who has played the game as long as I have or nearly, is mature, smart and understands the game.
Please nominate Trebor as one of the candidates for community senator.
I vote for Trebor for this reasons.

Oerba because of her experience on both aspects of the game.

SunflowerGirl has played the game a long time, is active- more so in game than on the forums, and because of this understands how the game goes and what needs to be done.
DestinyDeoxys has been fitting the job requirement exceptionally and will obviously do so again.

If you were smart, you'd at least allow him back in.
DestinyDeoxys, I believe Destiny did just as good of a job. Very active on the forums and tried to give us feedback when received. Did what was asked and had no complaints.
Oerba, hes busy with school but hes knowledgeable about the game and does a whole different side of ROSE than your conventional player. He is well-rounded in all parts of this game and experienced in it all.
Just as a side note, no offense but the 4th Senate member was totally useless. I called him out the first week he was elected over better candidates with his grand total post count of 2 at the time. In the end? I haven't seen a word from him since the first two days of his term.
My point is:
Pick actual consistant members of this forum, please.

I'll have to agree with Dusk about this. I don't know who's "bright idea" it was to add an unknown, short timer, and as it "appears" to the rest of us, that unknown 4th member hasn't been heard from since the original election. For someone who is supposed to represent US, the Rose gamers, that person seems to have been completely out of touch with us. Lets please not repeat that mistake again.

I nominated both these guys last time, but sadly they were overlooked. Both are long standing members of the rose community, mature, responsible, knowledgable about the game. I think they are both fair players that would keep the best interest of the whole rose community in mind (PvM as well as PvP). Both will state their opinions against the GMs when necessary, but do so in an intelligent manner.
Oerba
After reading a lot of his posts in forums, I realize this person knows the game very well and would be able to give lots of positive imput to the GMs.
Phish
Just because he knows everything.

We need someone that is willing to go that extra mile for the players... as a prior community moderator, CoffeeMuse did an excellent job... He listens and speaks what needs to be done and I think his professionalism would be a great way to approach the dev team...

I chose fuer because he is a developer and can possibly help with things. (Seriously though, don't pick someone who hasn't gotten on for months and dosn't have any posts)

Lord Arthas- Pretty much shares the same opinions as I do about a majority of the aspects of the game and clearly communicates his (and others) views and opinions of the game. I think he would have some impact on getting the Dev's to focus a little more on the PvM aspect of the game, drop issues, and alerting to bugs in-game.
Agreed. and would also include coffee muse for the afformentioned reasons.
It would be nice if the current and future senate members did a bit more of reporting back to forum members.
