Depends on what you want, I was in the same boat and started on ymir, met a bunch of awesome people and am happy with the game atm.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie has the most players, items are easily obtained, and there are a lot of different guilds to check out before you find the one closest to perfect. Also heavily botted and filled with spam in the market areas.

Yggdrasil is farmed by the Valkyrie guild, and in terms of player base it's pretty pathetic and might as well be considered a dead server. ygg server lol think of this as a worst off Iris server back in the pre-renewal days.

Ymir has a smaller population compared to Valkyrie, but from what I've noticed most people there are super nice and willing to help. A lot of people that have been playing for years and years can be found there, but you will find a good amount of new players too. Anyone who is still playing today that used to be on Chaos, Loki and Iris will most likely be on Ymir.

Sakray, depending on how long ago you left, is now a test server. Don't make a character there.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Most people shoot for Valk first since this used to be the free server before iRO went f2p. That's where I started and I'm still there to this day.

because everyone says their own server is best. Some ppl thinly veil crap complements on other servers but thats about it. The best server is where you have friends and they can be made anywhere.

ROFLMAO! Just because Valkyrie guild dominates WoE in Ygg doesn't mean we own/farm the server. =P Get your facts straight. We got more player base than ever since there are some old RO players who came back during Xmas break and playing again on a server where they can start fresh and with an economy that didn't get entirely butchered yet like Valkyrie or no VIP requirements like Ymir.

Personally I prefer valk server, more players. But if u rly can't stand spams and bots then go to ygg or ymir. Want GTB card? Go to ymir XD

If you're looking at bots, in terms of most pots it goes: Valk, Ygg, Ymir.
I play on Yggdrasil, and I like it. Sure, the Valkyrie guild knows how to WoE and has an advantage on the server. But that's alright, because on Yggdrasil, there isn't a hatred between guilds over WoE. WoE is WoE; we're enemies 4 hours a week, and friends the rest. Plus, the rest of the server is catching up.
I wouldn't dock Yggdrasil. We're a nice small knit community and it's pretty easy to make friends.
But, the best thing for you to do is to make an account on all three servers and just walk around and see how you like it. Keep in mind, though, that you need to have purchased VIP in order to make an account on Ymir. Note, though, that you only need to buy VIP once to make an account on Ymir. If you chose that you don't want VIP anymore after that, you can still play the characters you've made. You only lose your VIP benefits.

Edit: And some cutie on Yggdrasil has a GTB as well.
It drops on all servers now.

On what server to play well I play valk and now ygg yes there are A lot of players and a lot of guilds for all lvls and just about anything you want to do in the game on valk and easy to get anything that u want
Now I just made a char on ygg server and I got to say I love it I will alwayys main valk but ygg for its friendly people they actually invite you to party u can go into pvp and not be killed by all the 150 and actually have fun in woe small scrimmage is so much fun then having 100+ people in one castle fighting

Well for a new player I say start one on both ygg and valk and see which one u like best sorry yamir just have not played u server yet

I help the valk guild on the valk server on tuesdays and watch Nausea do ygg woe right after. I don't even woe on Ygg to see and know what's going on there. The woe scene in yggdrasil is the most pathetic I've ever seen. I mean, yeah it's cool if you guys want to farm the server by having valk + warrior nation get like 15/20 castles most woes. But to defend it by telling me to get my facts straight? Lol gtfo. This was just last month

Hmm, interesting question.

If you want a new server feel Ygg is the place, many are low level and not so many cards/gear etc have been obtained there as yet it seems. Unfortunately Valkyrie guild of the Valkyrie server went and inject some 150 players to fight against level 80+ players so the result is http://choobs.org/yggwoe/index, http://choobs.org/yg.../index/20111207 and http://choobs.org/yggwoe2/index. Not sure how true it is but I heard that Warrior Nation is also Valkyrie.

It seems some people are starting to compete with them but, its hard when someone else has such a big head start to making God Items.


If you want a server that feels like there's 10,000 players and non-stop action......... Valk MAY be the place. In some guilds you'll find many are level 150 and don't log on very often. In others you will find that it is active but they get trashed in WoE due to their lower levels (WoE is more balanced now though so that may change a bit). On the other hand items are relatively cheap due to excess supply via many high level players farming MvPs and some botting. Any card you want you can get, many God Items and MvP cards are there (many for MvP cards meaning like 10~20 or something like that, God Items may be about 30 WoE 1.0 and 50 WoE 2.0, i could be materially wrong about those figures but, that's just to give you an idea)


If you want some balance to the server that you play on I think Ymir might be the place, can't say i've ever seen a bot there and it has a strong population with good activity and nice balance of veterans and noobs.
I play on Valk as my main server still cuz all my friends are here. Thumbs up on the pott hat said best place is always where your friends are. On Valk server though, I have to say...... your friends may be there, but whether or not they log on is the real question.

Figure out if you still want to commit to this game. If you're serious go to the Ymir server. In the survey I did all the serious players are on Ymir. If you're casual just go on Valk, there's many more players, many more bots, and high end gear is still very expensive, while earning money from scratch is still difficult.
Retards are going to fly in here and say high end gear has been dropping in price, and they'll neglect the fact you are starting from scratch and they started from scratch over 5 years ago and can't fathom what it is like.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't see the point in playing on the Ygg server. There's like 80% less players, and WoE is not a competition there.

Blah blah blah. I probably like you guys more than the next guy but whatever the "true story" is, no one outside your guild will see Valk as anything other than a bunch of good players who band together in the earliest of a server and own everything against the new people just beginning to learn. By the time new players learn, you're already well established and forever at an unfair advantage. This may not be true, or perhaps you can argue "its not your fault they suck" or something or the other, but i'm simply stating the fact. Personally I don't care, I always welcome a challenge.

So there you have it, the reason they say Valkyrie guild owns the server in Ygg (cuz seriously only Valk denies that)
and the reason they have been thought to have developed the cancer of servers and been injecting it into Valk and Ygg servers on Valkyrie server.


On the bright side, this opens a nice door for David vs Goliath themed WoE and Epic battles.

Everyone can get a decent start with Eden gear and Farming stuff for those buy shops (Valk has many of those).

Also there is a quest called Doha's secret order, gets you a nice shiny bradium brooch and a Dragon Man which you won't care for early so you can sell it to make tens of thousands early, just need a high level friend to escort you and some time.

Yeah go to Valk, trust me.
Ymir is peaceful and items are less expensive here but a lot less available because there are almost no bots.

Ygg is dead. I played that server for a couple days and wanted to shoot myself in the face from boredom. Nobody talks publicly and they are all pretty much cooped up in their guilds or whatever and keep to themselves.
( Ygg players: you guys should find a global chill spot and be a little more welcoming to new players or you can consider your server dead )



I went from Valk-->Ymir and thought Ymir was nice but I'm about to switch back to Valk because there is always so much going on.
You can go one map south of Prontera and meet tons of new people and they are there everyday.
You won't find that on any other server.
I'm switching back soon
